What You'll Do:
We are seeking a visionary Chief Information Officer/Chief Information Security Officer (CIO/CISO) with exceptional technical skills and executive presence to join our dynamic SaaS company specializing in data as a service. As we continue to experience double-digit revenue growth, we need a leader who can establish best practices and guide our company towards sustainable, long-term success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to think critically, collaborate effectively with product managers, mentor engineers, and drive the design, development, and installation of innovative software solutions that meet our high standards of quality and performance.
The CIO/CISO will oversee our IT strategy, internal software, back office systems, and cybersecurity frameworks, ensuring they align with business goals. This role will play a critical part in scaling operations, implementing best practices, driving innovation, and managing the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity risks.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that supports business objectives, aligns with corporate goals, and drives innovation.
- Collaborate with the CTO, product/project management, and engineering teams to prioritize and deliver scalable technical solutions.
- Oversee governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Security Leadership:
- Establish and maintain a robust cybersecurity strategy to protect the company's data, assets, and infrastructure.
- Implement policies for secure software development and ensure adherence to frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
- Continuously evaluate emerging threats and technologies to improve detection, prevention, and response capabilities.
Operations Management:
- Oversee IT operations, systems architecture, and cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and high availability.
- Champion the integration of Agile methodologies and the implementation of automated CI/CD pipelines to enhance operational efficiency and accelerate delivery cycles.
- Partner with production engineering teams to create a resilient disaster recovery and business continuity plan to minimize downtime.
Data Driven Decisions:
- Architect and implement scalable solutions for managing and analyzing large datasets, focusing on accuracy, privacy, and accessibility.
- Leverage analytics to support internal decision-making and enhance data-driven services for customers.
People & Collaboration:
- Build and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and innovation.
- Partner with legal, compliance, and HR to align on data privacy, security awareness training, and third-party risk management.
What You'll Need:
- 10+ years of experience in IT leadership, including roles focused on security, infrastructure, and data management.
- Expertise in designing and managing secure cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Proven track record of implementing enterprise-wide cybersecurity policies and managing audits for compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including microservices, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience managing commercial platforms, including Salesforce, Netsuite, ADP and other business critical systems.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements like GDPR, HIPAA, or CCPA as they pertain to SaaS companies.
- Strong communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, TOGAF) are a plus.
