The role serves as the enterprise leader for AI-enabled transformation, partnering across Operations, Clinical leadership, Information Technology, People, Finance, Growth, and other functions to redesign work, accelerate adoption, and deliver measurable business outcomes while maintaining appropriate governance, privacy, security, compliance, and human oversight. This is a hands-on executive role that combines strategic leadership with direct technical contribution, including prototyping, building, testing, and improving AI-powered products, applications, automations, and software solutions in partnership with IT and clinical stakeholders.
Essential Functions

2. Builds and manages a prioritized transformation portfolio across clinical, operational, administrative, and support functions, establishing clear business cases, owners, timelines, and measures of success.
3. Partners with clinical leadership, physicians, Compliance, Legal, Information Technology, Operations, and other functional leaders to redesign workflows and ensure AI initiatives align with clinical standards, operational needs, and organizational priorities.
4. Leads the evaluation, piloting, implementation, and scaling of AI-enabled solutions, automation, workflow technologies, and other transformation initiatives across the enterprise.
5. Establishes clinical and regulatory AI governance with medical, quality, compliance, legal, privacy, security, and IT leaders, including pre-deployment clinical validation, documented approvals, regulatory and contractual review, human oversight, performance thresholds, and ongoing monitoring for safety, accuracy, bias, drift, and unintended consequences.
6. Personally contributes to the design, prototyping, development, testing, and iteration of AI-powered applications, software tools, workflow automations, and integrations; partners with IT and technical teams to move viable prototypes into secure, supportable production solutions.
7. Develops an enterprise approach to AI adoption and change management that equips leaders and employees to use new capabilities effectively, responsibly, and confidently.
8. Translates frontline and leadership needs into product requirements, builds proofs of concept and minimum viable products where appropriate, conducts hands-on demonstrations and user testing, and iterates based on feedback and measurable outcomes.
9. Establishes performance metrics and value-realization practices to measure financial impact, productivity, quality, access, service, adoption, employee experience, and other intended outcomes of transformation initiatives.
10. Leads AI vendor and partner evaluation, including clinical evidence and validation requirements where applicable, due diligence, contracting support, data-use safeguards, performance expectations, monitoring obligations, and escalation or exit plans.
11. Maintains practical proficiency with AI development platforms, APIs, automation tools, data workflows, and emerging technologies; evaluates and directly experiments with relevant capabilities to inform build-versus-buy decisions.
12. Builds and develops the transformation function and cross-functional delivery model, while remaining directly involved in solution architecture, technical problem-solving, prototyping, and execution rather than operating solely as a strategic sponsor.
