The Category & ESG Data Analyst supports Strategic Category Leads by delivering advanced analytics, market intelligence, and ESG compliance oversight across the global supply base. This role transforms raw procurement and ESG data into forward-facing, executive-level insights that drive fact-based decision-making, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and sustainability performance.
This position requires strong technical capability, including extracting data from SQL databases and DataBricks environments and developing interactive Power BI dashboards for global stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advanced Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Extract, transform, and analyze procurement and ESG data from SQL databases, SAP/ERP systems, and DataBricks environments.
- Develop and maintain forward-facing Power BI dashboards and executive reporting tools to support global category strategies.
- Design scalable data models to enable real-time visibility into spend, supplier performance, cost drivers, and ESG metrics.
- Identify data integrity issues (missing fields, incorrect commodity codes, inaccurate spend categorization) and partner with divisions to correct and standardize data.
- Ensure accurate commodity code utilization and data governance so consolidated group spend is correctly reflected.
- Perform cost modeling, scenario analysis, and trend forecasting to support negotiations and sourcing initiatives.
- Automate recurring reporting processes and drive continuous improvement in procurement analytics.
Market & Supplier Intelligence
- Monitor resin and plastics markets, including raw material pricing trends, supply/demand dynamics, and global trade impacts.
- Benchmark suppliers and track KPIs related to cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.
- Provide strategic insights to support long-term category planning.
Category & Sourcing Support
- Support the development and execution of global sourcing strategies for resins and plastics.
- Provide analytical support for supplier negotiations, including cost breakdown analysis and volume modeling.
- Maintain supplier performance scorecards and KPI dashboards.
- Partner with Category Leads to identify cost reduction, consolidation, and risk mitigation opportunities.
Supply Chain ESG Monitoring & Governance
- Support rollout and ongoing management of Supply Chain ESG monitoring systems across Magna Exteriors' supplier base.
- Serve as point of contact for ESG-related topics for suppliers.
- Facilitate discussions with critical suppliers to ensure compliance with ESG nomination criteria.
- Lead follow-up actions including corrective action plans and supplier escalations for underperforming ESG suppliers.
- Support due diligence obligations related to supply chain compliance (legal, CSR, regulatory requirements).
- Partner with Sustainability and Global SCM teams to develop measurable ESG strategies and targets.
- Actively participate in Magna/Group/Division-level ESG governance meetings.
Supply Chain ESG Liaison
- Point of contact for ESG-related topics for suppliers

- Project management or systems implementation experience preferred.
