  • Create and update COTS models, drawings, and associated metadata for library components
  • Manage and maintain the Windchill Parts Classification and SUMA modules
  • Management of the material library specifically between PLM and ERP systems
  • Management of mechanical and electrical components

Standardization

  • Establish and enforce standards for model creation, naming conventions, metadata, and documentation
  • Maintain tables and parameters for varying sizes and specifications of standard fittings/components
  • Ensure that the CAD library aligns with industry standards and best practices
  • Maintain the Reuse Library between CAD software and PLM

Collaboration and Support

  • Work closely with design engineers to identify and fulfill their component needs.
  • Provide support and training to the engineering team on how to effectively use the CAD library.
  • Collaborate with the Configuration Management and PLM teams to ensure integrated workflows and data consistency.

Quality Control

  • Conduct regular audits of the CAD library to ensure data integrity and compliance with standards.
  • Review and approve new and revised COTS models, ensuring they meet quality and consistency requirements.
  • Manage and resolve discrepancies or issues related to library components.

Documentation and Process Improvement

  • Document library procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve CAD library processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and usability.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in CAD and PLM technology to implement improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in CAD modeling and library management in the aerospace or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Siemens NX, PTC Creo, or similar.
  • Experience with PLM systems, preferably Windchill.
