About your new role:

CommandLink's vendor quote tool sits at the center of how sales, procurement, and finance price, approve, and track vendor pricing across the business. We're looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to own the systems and data side of this tool: mapping how vendor quotes move through the business today, defining what the system needs to capture and enforce, and making sure the tool's data model, integrations, and reporting hold up as pricing volume and vendor complexity grow.

This role reports into Vendor and Finance leadership, but the job itself lives across teams. You'll work daily with the engineering team building the tool, sales operations, vendor management, and finance, and you're the person each of those groups turns to when they need to understand how the tool actually works or why a rule exists. Success in this role depends as much on how well you align competing priorities across those groups as it does on the technical decisions you make. You'll be the person who understands the tool's data model better than anyone else in the building, and who can explain, in plain terms, why a pricing rule or approval gate exists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of alignment between procurement, finance, sales operations, and engineering, making sure each group's needs and constraints are represented in how the tool is built and how it behaves.
  • Run recurring working sessions with stakeholders across those groups to surface conflicting requirements early, rather than letting them surface as rework after a feature ships.
  • Own the requirements and data model for the vendor quote tool, including vendor records, line item pricing, currency handling, quote versioning, and approval status.
  • Map current-state vendor quoting workflows across sales, procurement, and finance, and identify where the process breaks down, introduces risk, or creates friction between teams.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specs, user stories, and process documentation that engineering can build against without repeated clarification, and that non-technical stakeholders can still follow.
  • Define and maintain approval workflow logic, including dollar thresholds, new vendor flags, and RFQ reference requirements, balancing finance's risk controls against sales' need for speed.
  • Scope and validate integrations between the quote tool and adjacent systems, including CRM, ERP, and vendor master data, and determine what needs real time sync versus batch processing.
  • Write SQL queries to investigate data issues, validate pricing accuracy, and support ad hoc reporting requests from finance and procurement.
  • Plan and run UAT for new features and changes, pulling in reviewers from each affected team, and write test cases that cover edge cases like currency rounding, expired vendor contracts, and duplicate line items.
  • Monitor tool adoption and data quality post launch, and turn feedback from across the business into prioritized, well justified backlog items.
  • Takes on additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support the success of the team and organization.

What you'll need for success:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience as a business systems analyst, systems analyst, or similar role supporting procurement, finance, or quoting and pricing systems.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a data model or schema for a business system, including field level decisions like versioning, currency, and status tracking.
  • Working proficiency in SQL, comfortable writing queries independently to investigate data issues without relying on engineering.
  • Experience mapping business processes and writing functional specs or business requirement documents that hold up under engineering scrutiny.
  • Experience defining or maintaining approval workflows with conditional logic, such as thresholds, flags, and exceptions.
  • Experience working with integrations between business systems, such as CRM, ERP, or vendor and procurement platforms.
  • Proven track record partnering with multiple stakeholder groups at once, such as finance, procurement, sales, and engineering, and reaching workable agreement when their priorities conflict.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders and facilitating discussion between groups that don't naturally speak the same language.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CPQ platforms such as Salesforce CPQ or Oracle CPQ.
  • Background in telecom, IT services, or B2B SaaS pricing structures.
  • Exposure to Agile ceremonies and backlog grooming alongside a product team.
