The Opportunity

Are you passionate about building strategic partnerships and driving growth in one of the fastest-growing segments of the energy industry? Hitachi Energy is seeking a Business Development Manager – Data Centers to help expand our presence across the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Data Center market. In this high-impact role, you will identify new business opportunities, cultivate trusted customer relationships, and position innovative energy solutions that support the evolving needs of hyperscale and colocation customers.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

As a key contributor to our growth strategy, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop customer-focused solutions, influence market direction, and strengthen Hitachi Energy’s position as a trusted industry leader. This role offers the opportunity to engage with customers, industry experts, and decision-makers while representing our organization at conferences, trade shows, and key industry events. How You'll Make an Impact

  • Develop and execute business development strategies for the C&I Data Center market.

  • Identify, qualify, and advance opportunities across hyperscale and colocation customers.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial, legal, and product teams to deliver tailored solutions.

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to uncover growth opportunities.

  • Represent Hitachi Energy at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

  • Prepare and deliver market and segment insights that support sales and marketing initiatives.

  • Promote innovation, thought leadership, and customer value across the data center sector.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within Commercial & Industrial markets.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and delivering sustainable revenue growth.

  • Strong understanding of data center and C&I market trends, challenges, and technologies.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.

  • Ability and willingness to travel 25–50% for customer meetings and industry events.
