Position SummaryThe Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Billing/Scheduling Associate I who will obtain insurance information, complete referral forms, and counsel patients on financial assistance over the phone or by email. Schedules and coordinates patient appointments over the phone or by email, with no patient contact.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Obtains demographic & insurance information from patients.
  • Communicates with physicians and clinical staff to assist with scheduling urgent or referred patient scheduling calls/requests. 
  • Reviews schedule for new patients, updating when necessary.
  • Covers patient incoming clinic calls as needed.
  • Performs daily edits and changes to provider scheduling templates. 
  • Addresses in-basket messages, appointments in work queues, and worklists in Epic.
  • Works Relatient patient reminder system results and contacts patients or makes scheduling changes.
  • Maintains Handholder matrix.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
