Summary/Objective
Forge Nano Inc., a fast-growing materials company focused on manufacturing nano-scale coating equipment across a wide range of markets, is seeking a Battery Fabrication Lab Intern reporting to the Battery Team. This position is responsible for supporting lithium-ion battery fabrication processes, assisting in laboratory operations, and contributing to equipment, process, and data improvements. Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Follow all SOPs related to safety, PPE usage, equipment operation, laboratory procedures, and sample processing
- Assist with battery laboratory operations including materials processing, data collection, and inventory management
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to ensure efficient lab performance
- Investigate materials and analyze data anomalies to support research efforts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace
- Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and daily logs
- Support battery fabrication activities and develop proficiency in basic cell assembly processes
- Participate in regular team meetings to review results, provide updates, troubleshoot challenges, and receive feedback
Required Education and Experience
- 0–2 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory or research environment
- Foundational knowledge of chemistry, materials science, or engineering principles

Work Environment
Work is primarily conducted in a laboratory environment at Forge Nano’s headquarters, where employees may be exposed to chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Proper PPE is required at all times. Forge Nano prioritizes safety and a positive employee environment. Strict adherence to corporate and facility policies is required. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on-site.

The employee will work in a laboratory setting, requiring frequent standing, walking, and use of hands for handling tools, materials, and small components. Occasional lifting of materials (up to ~50 lbs.) may be required. The role may involve interacting with lab equipment and working in proximity to active processes.
Compensation & Internship details
Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week Duration: June through August 2026, with potential for continuation
This is a temporary, paid internship and is not benefits-eligible.
In accordance with Colorado law, the compensation range for this position is listed above. Final compensation is determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and internal equity.
This internship provides hands-on experience in lithium-ion battery fabrication, laboratory operations, and materials processing within a research and development environment, while supporting equipment troubleshooting, data analysis, and continuous improvement of battery manufacturing processes.
