About the Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic junior counsel to be a founding member of the Veza Legal team. You will work closely with Sales, Partnerships, and other cross functional business teams to draft and negotiate contracts. In addition to juggling multiple deals and talking to customers and vendors, you will spend a significant portion of your time on helping to build processes and programs to increase efficiency and deal velocity, and help the team scale with company growth. Depending on need and interest, you may work on product development projects and other areas outside of Commercial Legal. This position reports to the Director of Legal.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as a Legal point of contact for go-to-market and procurement deals and provide practical day to day and strategic advice to relevant teams.
- Participate in the negotiation of partnership, reseller, customer, and vendor agreements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to build scalable processes to increase deal velocity.
- Draft and maintain agreement templates.
- Work on other special projects as needed.
About You:
- 2-4 years of legal experience, preferably as in-house counsel; bonus if part of this time was spent at a cloud-based software technology company.
- Strong understanding of cloud services, general SaaS business practices and relevant regulatory requirements, with a willingness to dig into the company’s evolving product offerings to help establish best practices.
- Ability to work independently to manage and negotiate agreements with a wide variety of customers and vendors.
- Strong judgment, risk-assessment and mitigation skills with the ability to quickly make recommendations and decisions.
- Adaptive and creative when problem solving, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to translate “legalese” into business-driven solutions.
- Ability to manage fast-moving workstreams and multiple stakeholders, with an ability to triage quickly and prioritize based on evolving business needs..
- Interested in exploring and integrating AI into developing workflows and processes.
- Cooperative team player, willing to take on additional responsibilities and wear multiple hats
- In possession of a great attitude and sense of humor - workloads can be a challenge, but you can manage it in stride, with help from your team.

At Veza, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range can be discussed with your recruiter for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package.
