About DAT
Job Application Deadline: 06/30/2026
The Opportunity
The Insights team at DAT turns data into decisions. We sit at the intersection of product, revenue, and operations, working across business lines to answer questions that actually change what the company does.
As an Analyst I, you'll work alongside senior analysts and data engineers to help surface findings that inform product strategy, measure business performance, and advance self-service access to data across the organization. This is an early-career role with real scope; you'll do hands-on analytical work from day one, and you'll grow quickly if you're curious and like to dig.
What You’ll Do
- Answer business and product questions using data; pulling and querying datasets, building views, and delivering clear, well-documented findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards that help stakeholders track the metrics that matter to them
- Partner with senior analysts on larger analytical projects, taking ownership of scoped workstreams
- Document your work clearly so findings are reproducible and conclusions are defensible
- Participate in requirements gathering with internal stakeholders, helping translate a business question into an analytical approach
- Participate in the creation of tracking plans for new product features, working within DAT's instrumentation guidelines.
- Contribute to the team's shared knowledge base, including data definitions, methodology notes, and reusable query libraries
- Communicate task status and blockers proactively, and ask clarifying questions before starting work to ensure accurate delivery.
The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring
Must-haves:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate work.
- Strong SQL skills. You can independently write and troubleshoot queries to extract, filter, join, and aggregate data.
- A clear, structured approach to problem-solving: You know how to scope a question before jumping to answers.
- Good written and verbal communication. You can explain what you found and why it matters to someone who isn't in the data.
- Intellectual curiosity. You follow up when something looks off and ask the next question when the first answer isn't complete.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.
Nice-to-haves:
- Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Mixpanel, or similar)
- Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation or analysis.
- A background in statistics, with descriptive methods at minimum and inferential a plus.
- Exposure to product analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar) and concepts such as event tracking or funnel analysis.
- Experience with experimental methodologies (e.g., A/B testing) and analysis
- Experience working with large or complex relational datasets
- Prior work in a SaaS, technology, or data-intensive industry
What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
- You've built at least one meaningful dashboard or report that stakeholders are actively using
- You're handling a steady queue of analytical requests with limited supervision
- You understand the key data domains in our warehouse well enough to know where to look for what
- You've developed a working relationship with your immediate team and key stakeholders
