Location: Washington, DC (3-4 days onsite)

Role Overview
Lead the evaluation, design, and delivery of enterprise-grade AI and cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will drive rapid proof-of-concepts, shape enterprise architecture, and provide hands-on leadership from ideation through production, accelerating delivery with AI-assisted development practices.
Primary Objectives
- Identify and evaluate emerging AI and cloud technologies relevant to business needs.
- Design and implement proof-of-concepts to validate business and technical feasibility.
- Define enterprise architecture and production-readiness requirements for selected solutions.
- Establish scalable, secure, and maintainable Azure-based solution architectures.
- Accelerate software delivery through AI-assisted development practices.
- Provide architectural leadership across the solution lifecycle from idea to production.
Scope of Work (Responsibilities)
- Conduct market research on AI platforms, foundation models, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, developer tools, and enterprise AI products.
- Analyze vendor offerings, market trends, product maturity, security considerations, and implementation models.
- Assess solutions against business requirements, enterprise architecture standards, and regulatory obligations.
- Design end-to-end solution architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure services.
- Define architecture patterns for AI, cloud-native applications, integrations, APIs, data platforms, and automation.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, governance, and operational standards.
- Develop architecture artifacts, design documents, and implementation roadmaps.
- Integrate GenAI agents with back-end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Ensure production readiness, including robust error handling, retries, idempotency, observability, logging, and monitoring.
- Participate in the full SDLC: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements and solution vision.
- Support project teams via architecture reviews, technical assessments, and implementation planning.
- Participate in architecture governance forums and design reviews.
- Mentor engineering teams on modern cloud and AI architecture practices.
- Contribute to shared engineering standards, best practices, and code reviews.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
Skills and Experience (Required)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years in software engineering and solution architecture.
- 5+ years designing enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating emerging technologies and conducting technical market assessments.
- Proven delivery of proof-of-concepts and scaling them to production environments.
- Experience leading enterprise architecture and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Success working in complex enterprises with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of production engineering: error handling, retries, idempotency, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Proficiency building APIs with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
- Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous problem spaces and make sound engineering trade-offs.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; comfortable working across time zones.
