We're building a finance function that stays ahead of the curve — maximizing self-serve AI capabilities while driving an AI-first automation roadmap to operate at the pace Databricks demands. The Accounting Manager, Accounts Receivable, will serve as a senior individual contributor owning end-to-end technical AR accounting across global AR balances and multiple legal entities, leading multi-entity subledger consolidations as our global footprint expands. Working within a structured preparer/reviewer framework in close partnership with the broader Order-to-Cash (OTC), Revenue, and Finance Transformation teams, this high-ownership role bridges technical accounting rigor with cross-functional operational scale. 

Close quality, accurate management reporting, and subledger integrity are non-negotiable. Success in this role requires both strong operational execution and sound technical accounting judgment - applying U.S. GAAP to complex global receivables matters, bad debt modeling, and close accruals to ensure an audit-ready subledger. You will own a high-quality close today while directly shaping how our global receivables accounting operates tomorrow, using an AI-first automation mindset to scale our processes alongside rapid company growth.

The impact you will have:

• Own the Global  AR Month-End Close: Autonomously lead the monthly close cycle for Global AR balances, preparing end-to-end subledger-to-GL reconciliations, roll-forward schedules, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue adjustments, contra-AR, complex close accruals, and AR management reporting with clear analysis of material movements and key drivers.
• Technical Accounting & AFDA Modeling: Own the Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (AFDA) and Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) accounting models; assess underlying assumptions and portfolio trends, prepare monthly provision recommendations, process approved write-offs with full audit trails, and ensure technical U.S. GAAP compliance
• Lead AI & Automation Adoption: Lead the identification, design, and adoption of AI and automation opportunities across AR accounting workflows, leveraging Databricks, LLMs, and advanced analytics to automate manual reconciliations, improve accrual accuracy, strengthen controls, and accelerate period closes.
• Maintain Balance Sheet Integrity: Own AR subledger integrity, flux analyses, variance explanations, and period-over-period movement schedules, providing clear management insights into AR trends, material movements, and key balance sheet drivers for senior Finance leadership.
• Drive Audit Readiness & SOX Controls: Maintain audit-ready workpapers and process documentation; serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors regarding AR schedules, walkthroughs, and audit request responses.
• Cross-Functional Process Alignment: Partner with Billing Operations, Cash Applications, Revenue Assurance, Revenue Accounting, Corporate Accounting, and FP&A teams to validate subledger accuracy, clear unapplied balances, and reconcile AR balances.
• Finance Transformation & SAP Implementation: Partner with our Transformation, Engineering, and IT teams to redesign AR accounting workflows, eliminate manual routines, and drive process standardization, automation, testing, and data readiness for SAP and other systems implementations.

What we look for:

• Experience: 6+ years of progressive AR and GL accounting experience in a mid-to-large organization, with demonstrated ownership of month-end close, AFDA/CECL, subledger-to-GL reconciliations, and AR management reporting.
• Credentials: CPA strongly preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Technical Accounting: Strong U.S. GAAP judgment and ability to independently research, document, and defend accounting conclusions relating to receivables, revenue recognition alignment, accrual cut-off, contract assets/liabilities, and expected credit loss methodologies.
• Autonomy & Review Readiness: Proven ability to operate independently with high autonomy, producing clean, reviewer-ready workpapers within a preparer/reviewer/approver framework.
• Systems & ERP: Hands-on ERP experience (SAP, NetSuite, or similar) with the ability to query, reconcile, and validate data across subledger and GL modules.
• M&A & Integration Experience: Prior experience supporting the accounting workstream of an acquisition is a strong plus. Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving integration environments with evolving data, processes, and systems is essential.
• The Automation Mindset: Advanced Excel proficiency (Power Query, dynamic arrays) paired with hands-on experience deploying or evaluating AI tools in a finance context; familiarity with data platforms like Databricks is a strong plus. 
• Ownership & Mindset: High ownership, detail-oriented, fast-moving, direct communicator, and calm under pressure. Open-minded and change-oriented.
• Scale & Agility: High-growth technology or SaaS industry experience strongly preferred; exposure to recurring or usage-based billing models is an advantage. Public accounting background preferred.
