This is a fully remote role that can be located anywhere in the Lower 48 States. Living in close proximity to a major metropolitan airport is strongly preferred as the role will require travel.

This is an H.SD140 band role.

Job Description Summary

Our work to build and grow relationships with advisory firms across the country positions Nationwide’s annuity, life insurance and retirement plan products for successful sales growth. As an Account Executive, you'll be responsible for building and cultivating relationships with both new and existing firms. We'll count on you to identify, prioritize and develop business cases for new partner acquisition. You'll focus on platform acquisition, other new partner firms and expanding and growing with existing firms. You'll have opportunities to collaborate with key Nationwide Financial (NF) leaders to develop strategic plans and tactical initiatives that advance NF as the partner of choice.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Discovers, prepares and delivers new partnerships for Nationwide. Focuses on platform distribution and uses market insights and data to discover new partner opportunities.

  • Develops and deploys a consistent activation strategy and team to create a business case recommendation for new partnerships and an activation strategy to bring them onboard to Nationwide.

  • Orchestrates plans that create a favorable brand impression, winning profitable new mandates and making the business case for new products and services.

  • Seeks to expand relationships by uncovering opportunities for growth, creating the appropriate connections with client firms, gaining specific insights and access for NF sales teams and working to ensure the team is priority focused.

  • Creates and maintains the appropriate relationships and communication protocols required for NF Leaders, colleagues and wholesalers to feel engaged, informed and on-board with strategic partner plans.

  • Proactively works to identify appropriate opportunities for the strategic use of resources to create brand and access wins for the NF team.

  • Collaborates with business partners both internally and externally including sales teams, key accounts and leadership to implement, execute, monitor and convey vision of sales and distribution strategies enabling expanded distribution, sales growth and existing business retention.

  • Partners across Strategic Account Management to align activation tactics, specifically within Governance to drive return on investment and firm experience to drive partner activities.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Associate Vice President.  May have a small number of direct reports.  

Typical Skills and Experiences: 

Education: Undergraduate studies in business, finance, sales marketing or related field of study. 

License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 6/7, Series 63 and Series 24/26 licenses.

Experience: Eight years of related, proven sales and sales leadership experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of financial industry, consulting, planning and implementation and tracking results. Demonstrated ability to successfully apply principles of sales, marketing and leadership to address most complex sales management opportunities and challenges. Ability to lead indirectly through influence. 

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

The national salary range for Account Executive, Firm Partner Development : $112,000.00-$198,000.00

The expected starting salary range for Account Executive, Firm Partner Development : $112,000.00 - $168,000.00
