Ibotta is seeking a 2D Motion Designer to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. This role sits at the intersection of creative, production, and marketing, ensuring our brand shows up dynamically and effectively across all B2B and D2C touchpoints. By joining us, you will be stepping into an exciting, creative role within our growing business marketing team.
As the 2D Motion Designer, you will execute the visual evolution of our brand through movement. You will focus on creating stunning animations from concept to completion, from static graphic design systems to high-end motion assets that simplify complex SaaS product features and elevate our brand presence. You’ll be responsible for executing everything from sophisticated product explainers to high-impact social content, ensuring every frame delivers outsized value for Ibotta and ladders up to our broader business goals.The ideal candidate is a master of art direction, a meticulous animator, and a strategic designer who is passionate about using motion to drive awareness and revenue opportunities in the SaaS tech space.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position, requiring 3 days in office. In-office hybrid days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Candidates must live in the United States.
What you will be doing:
The person in this role will sit within the Creative Production team and report to the Director of Production. You will work closely with them and the business marketing team to ensure alignment with brand positioning and strategy.
Conceptualize and design style frames both individually and as a team in partnership with the creative team. Storyboard and outline concepts that maintain cohesive visual alignment across all brand assets.
Bridge the gap between UI/UX and marketing by creating aspirational product animations that demonstrate software value with clarity and elegance.
Bring proactive ideas and motion solutions to complex communication challenges.
Support development and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across broadcast, streaming, digital, social, web, event, internal, and sales presentations.
Stay at the forefront of motion design, SaaS marketing techniques, and category news to inform creative strategy.
Manage timelines, creative briefs, and asset handoffs while ensuring cross-functional alignment.
Help develop motion design best practices and scalable templates to streamline the content calendar.
Champion new ways of working by integrating generative AI tools for design, storyboarding, and video workflows into the creative process.
Jump in when needed — whether building out static campaign visuals, refining design layouts, or polishing a high-stakes presentation.

What We Are Looking For
3+ years of experience in motion design, preferably within a tech, SaaS, or B2B environment.
Must demonstrate sophisticated graphic design skills (typography, layout, color) and advanced 2D animation techniques. Examples of SaaS-style motion design are required.
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop). Experience with 3D software (Cinema 4D) and Figma is a significant plus.
Outstanding ability to translate complex product data and audience insights into clear, compelling visual narratives.
Ability to identify creative gaps, improve production processes, and drive clarity across stakeholders.
A love for working with a team and solving challenging problems through design, including the ability to influence creative direction.
Exceptional time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously.
A creative thinker who is always looking to improve upon existing design systems and ways of working.

Additional Details:This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks, and occasional meals.
Base compensation range: $75,000 to 85,000. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
