Wise
What's the Work-Life Balance Like at Wise?
Frequently Asked Questions
We want to empower Wisers to make decisions and take ownership of how they work best. We believe that if you are intentional about where and who you work with, you’ll be able to get the best out of any working environment.
We know that teams and individuals all have different needs depending on what they need to deliver, as well as their personal circumstances. That’s why we have company-wide principles around flexible working and our teams set their own guidelines too.
In our offices, we’re always looking at space and working experience to create the best possible environment for people to collaborate and do their best work.
At Wise, we recognize that mental health and resilience are fundamental to our collective ability to drive impact. We take a holistic, high-performance approach to wellbeing, acknowledging that while mental health is a central priority, it is best supported through a comprehensive framework of five strategic pillars. By addressing mental, physical, social, financial, and professional needs, we aim to foster a stigma-free environment where every Wiser feels psychologically supported and empowered to perform at their best.
Our support framework includes:
- Mental & Emotional: Professional counseling through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and/or medical insurance (in some locations), peer support from trained Mental Wellbeing Champions, and self-guided resilience resources.
- Physical: Support for all aspects of physical health, including exercise, nutrition, sleep, and medical care. We provide resources to encourage an active lifestyle through medical insurance, fitness support, and ergonomic workspace programs.
- Social: Focused on fostering positive connections and professional relationships. We support team gatherings and social interactions to build a strong, connected community through Mission Days and team-building budgets.
- Financial: Recognizing that financial health impacts stress levels, we provide resources to help you manage your finances, plan for the future, and gain security through pay and stock guidance.
- Professional: Access to Mentoring, Coaching, and diverse learning opportunities designed to help you navigate workplace challenges, unblock professional hurdles, and build career confidence.

What People Are Saying About Wise
-
Remote or Hybrid Flexibility: Hybrid-by-default setup lets teams set guidelines, with most people splitting time between home and office. After six months, most can work virtually from almost anywhere for up to 90 days per year, subject to role and compliance approvals.
-
Time Off Access: A global minimum of 33 paid days off (with some U.S. hubs citing 36) plus three Me Days, paid volunteer time, sick leave and enhanced parental leave provide broad access to time away.
-
Recovery Time: A paid six‑week sabbatical every four years with a stipend is positioned to help people disconnect and recharge. This provides a longer recovery window to offset busier stretches.
