Position, cut, bend and fasten steel bars, rods, cables, and wire mesh in concrete forms per blueprints. Operate rod-bending machines, torches, saws and hand tools; perform stressing of cables, inventory and material ordering. Perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and working at heights while following safety rules.

Fabricate rebar orders using table benders, shear lines, automatic benders and overhead cranes. Maintain safety and cleanliness, meet customer deadlines, work day or night shifts, perform heavy lifting, and interact with coworkers and customers.

Apprentice reinforcing ironworker installs and secures steel bars, rods, cables, and wire mesh in concrete forms per blueprints, operates rod-bending machines and torches, cuts and bends rebar, performs material handling, rigging, and site safety tasks, and completes a 2-year apprenticeship (4,000 on-the-job hours plus related instruction).
