Algebra is known to be an abstract subject that makes it difficult to teach and learn. Our method removes the abstractness of Algebra. We blend the Algebra principles to subjects that are already known by the students. We discourage memorization and focus on reasoning. Our students solve equations without relying on formulas at least at the fundamental level. While policy makers and experts are debating the best timing to introduce Algebra, our 2nd grade students solve simple linear equations to quadratic equations. Our method is child friendly and based on a comprehensive approach where contents are selectively and timely introduced. Instead, we formulate a balance curriculum where contents are based on the need to know of the subject’s fundamentals, the method of transferring the knowledge and the timing of transferring the knowledge. This child-friendly approach introduces incremental and meaningful knowledge to students.
