New Zealand’s Xero announces North American HQ move to Denver

Accounting software developer Xero is opening a North American headquarters in Denver, adding hundreds of new employees to the 100-person team currently there. The company will start the move from its current San Francisco offices (above) next month as it looks to hire more efficiently in the lower-cost city. [NZHerald]

 

Level 3 Communications acquired for $34B

Denver-based telecommunications provider Level 3 agreed to be acquired by CenturyLink for $34 billion. The acquisition will add 200,000 miles to CenturyLink’s existing fiber optic network. The company is expected to keep a large Colorado presence. About 4,000 Coloradans work for Level 3 right now. [Built In Colorado]

 

BlogMutt brings on new CEO

Steve Pockross is joining crowdsourced content writing service BlogMutt as the company’s CEO. Previously, Pockross served as vice president of business development and strategy at LiveOps, a crowdsourced cloud call center. Current CEO Scott Yates will stay on as board chairman. [Blog post]

Centerline Solutions acquires Boulder Technology

Boulder Technology has been acquired by Golden-based Centerline Solutions for an undisclosed sum. However, the company’s aren’t strangers — they worked together on development of Centerline’s Enterprise Resource Planning software. Boulder Technology’s 12 employees will all join Centerline. Comcast bringing residential gigabit service to Colorado

Comcast will be offering higher internet speeds to residents across Colorado next year, and they won’t have to lay new wire to do it. The company is rolling out DOCSIS 3.1 technology to power gigabit speed internet speeds with existing wiring found in many homes. [InnovatioNews]
