While it may seem like business comes to a standstill for most of December, there was no shortage of changes happening in Colorado’s tech community. Throughout the month, we saw six new leaders take the helm at local companies, marking both the end of a year and the beginning of leadership era at their respective companies.

Ibotta brought on a new leader in December, adding Sujit Majmudar as its CMO. Majmudar most recently served as senior vice president of customer experience at Denver-based Caribou Coffee and Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc. He brings with him an eclectic resume, having held leadership roles in merchandising at lululemon and J.Crew, and having spent time as a financial analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Majmudar will report directly to CEO Bryan Leach and oversee operations ranging from brand and media strategy to influencer marketing.
Greenwood Village-based Recondo Technology, which creates billing and claims software for healthcare providers, added Craig Niemiec as its chief financial officer. Niemiec is a seasoned tech leader, having served as CFO at AxisPoint Health and IMD-Soft, in addition to other leadership roles. He will help to increase both savings and revenue to continue driving Recondo's 40 percent year-over-year growth.
DISH Network promoted Erik Carlson from his post as president and chief operating officer to president and CEO. The leadership change came after former CEO Charlie Ergen stepped down to assume a chairman role and focus on the company’s growing wireless business. Carlson will continue to report to Ergen, as Carlson works to develop an organizational structure that more effectively supports the three arms of the business: DISH TV, Sling TV and the company's wireless business.
Travelers Haven, a full-service housing firm that helps companies manage short-term housing, added three new vice presidents to its team in December, in addition to promoting three other team members to leadership positions.
Anna Kaminsky came on as vice president of accounting and finance, bringing with her more than 10 years of finance experience, more than six of which were spent Deloitte. Kaminsky most recently held the title of controller and senior manager of finance at Massachusetts-based startup iZotope, Inc.
Kipp Chambers joined the team as the new vice president of marketing, having previously served as the head of marketing at Denver-based Closetbox. Chambers brings 15 years of experience working with B2B and B2C tech startups as a marketer. He will lead the marketing department to guide product positioning, branding development and content strategy.
Jason Hall will also head the marketing department, serving as Travelers Haven’s new vice president of growth marketing. Hall comes from Boulder-based startup Binocs, Inc., where he held the position of chief operations officer. His focus as a marketing leader will be on digital marketing, data science and customer insights.
