Here’s what you may have missed in the world of Colorado tech.

Exciting news came from the Colorado tech scene last week, including a headquarters relocation, awards and acquisitions. This is the Built In Colorado weekly refresh.

MoonBikes landed in Boulder. MoonBikes, a French company, is expanding to Colorado for its American headquarters. MoonBikes builds electric snow bikes meant to be used as a means of transportation in the winter and is delivering its first 400 bikes later this year. The company is also expected to hire more employees in the U.S. [Colorado Inno]

Custom Ink acquired Printfection. Founded by two former University of Denver students, Printfection is a swag management company that allows customers to customize swag to send out for parties, employee appreciation and more. This is Custom Ink’s second acquisition in two months. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Printfection will continue to operate as a “largely independent” unit but its platform will be available to some of Custom Ink’s existing customers. Colorado named as the top state for women-led startups. For the second consecutive year, Colorado was ranked as the top state in the U.S. for women-led startups, according to a national report. The report was compiled by Merchant Maverick, using data from Pitchbook, the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sources. [Colorado Inno]

Fanatics acquired Topps. Fanatics, the one-stop-shop for sports fans, acquired sports trading card company Topps. According to CNBC, the deal is worth $500 million. Following the acquisition, Fanatics plans to produce MLB trading cards. [Built In Colorado]

These Colorado tech companies raised $3B+ in 2021. Last year, 10 startups raised a combined $3.04 billion in venture capital. Two of the companies appeared on the list for the second year in a row. Tech companies making the 2021 list include Strive Health, Gtmhub, Outside and Quantum Metric. [Built In Colorado]

WeWork offers free office space. WeWork announced it would provide temporary workspaces for those affected by the fires in Boulder. Those affected can work from any Boulder or Denver WeWork location and will be provided access to resources such as conference rooms, WiFi, printers and more. [Email]

Lightning eMotors announced Lightning eChassis. Lightning eMotors, a provider of specialty commercial electric vehicles for fleets, announced its new Lightning eChassis for commercial EVs. This new product will be available for Class 4 and Class 5 commercial electric base frame cabs, cutaway chassis configurations and stripped base frames. The company expects pre-production units will be available in the second quarter of 2022. [Lightning eMotors]
