Who’s got time to go to the grocery store anymore?
With a myriad of quality options to have everything you ever wanted delivered, who’d want to anyway? You can now use the time you would have spent waiting in line hiking in the mountains or finishing up that big work project.
But, the question remains, which service is best? We looked at four major e-grocery options for people who live along the Front Range and the answer is...is depends on your needs?

How it works: You sign up for a box of organic veggies to be shipped to your door once a week. You can then shop for a wide array of additional grocery items that’ll arrive with your box of veggies. They pick a delivery time for you, and will leave your food in a cooler outside your door.
What it costs: The cheapest box of veggies will run you $25.99 a week and is designed to be enough for 1-2 people. There is no fee for delivery.
Price of a pound of bacon: $9.99 – BUT, it’s not just any bacon, it’s dry rub uncured habanero bacon.
Where it stands out: This is the standout for health conscious foodies. The quality of the food they offer is top-notch and the company is based in Boulder and tries to source locally.
Where it falls short: While you’ll get what you pay for, it’s not for budget shoppers.

How it works: You go to Walmart’s website and pick out the food items you’d like delivered. You then pick a delivery window and your food arrives at your door.
What it costs: If you choose a two-hour window it’ll cost you $7 for delivery, while a four-hour window will run you $5. There is a $30 minimum delivery fee.
Price of a pound of bacon: A pound of Great Value Naturally Hardwood Smoked Bacon is running $3.84.
Where it stands out: Hey, you can’t beat Walmart’s prices. You can also throw really weird stuff into your order. If you want groceries AND a kiddie pool delivered to your door, you got it.
Where it falls short: The quality of the food on offer is probably not going to make the cut for foodies or serious health-nuts.

How it works: The process is almost identical to ordering from Walmart, only you can chose from anything that you’d normally find in a King Soopers. They also recently added a ton of natural and organic items that are available for delivery.
What it costs: You pay $10.95 for a two-hour delivery window or $15 for a 30 minute window.
Price of a pound of bacon: $4.99 for Farmland/Thick Sliced Bacon.
Where it stands out: You have access to everything in King Soopers without actually having to go to King Soopers.
Where it falls short: The website’s search function is horrible. A search for ‘bacon’ turns up bacon flavored cat food and cans of beans. Finding the foods you actually want can be daunting and you may find it’s easier to just run to the store. But, this is new territory for them, so things probably will get better soon.

How it works: First you pick which store you want a runner to go to. In my area (downtown Denver) I could pick from Whole Foods, Safeway, Costco, King Soopers, Natural Grocers, Marczyk Fine Foods or Petco. Once you’ve chosen the items you want delivered you pick a delivery window.
What it costs: You’ll pay $3.99 for a two-hour delivery or $5.99 for a one-hour delivery window. There is a $35 minimum.
Price of a pound of bacon: It depends on the store you choose. Whole Foods didn’t have a 1lb option, but they were selling 12 ounces of 365 Center Cut Bacon for $6.99.
Where it stands out: The service lets you pick from a ton of different stores, including popular ones like Costco and Whole Foods. You can also combine orders from different stores, and you don’t need a Costco card to shop there.
Where it falls short: Their prices aren’t always the same as the ones in-store – which kind of negates the only reason you’d go to Costco anyway. What’s more, loyalty discounts and in-store sales do not apply.
