Employees moving from the office to the comfort of their home presented a challenge for IT professionals, especially if IT operations were not tracked on a cloud-based platform.

Boulder-based Automox, a cloud-based management platform for IT professionals, saw an increase in demand as companies made the transition to remote work last year. Automox currently works with approximately 2,000 customers across 30 countries, a more than 200 percent increase since June of 2019, according to a company statement.

In addition to this recent growth, Automox announced Tuesday it raised $110 million. This Series C round was funded by Insight Partners, Blackstone, TechOperators and Koch Disruptive Technologies.

“This new funding will accelerate our ability to deliver [a] greater breadth of capabilities in the platform as we continue to help enterprise customers shift away from a disparate collection of on-premises management tools toward managing their entire infrastructure from the IT Operations Cloud,” CEO Jay Prassl said in the statement.

The recent funding will also be used to expand Automox’s platform and build the sale go-to-market function. Additional hiring is also part of the company’s plan. Automox is currently hiring for some 32 remote positions with plans to add more than 100 new roles this year.

“The Automox approach is radically different from others in the space,” John Stecher, CTO and senior managing director at Blackstone, said in the statement. “As a practitioner, I know that IT operations teams don’t need another tool to manage and maintain; they need a consolidated, single view into their infrastructure and the ability to act quickly and decisively.”

Founded in 2015, Automox has raised more than $152 million in capital to date. Although still based in Boulder, the company made the move late last year to do away with its office space, opting instead for hundreds of in-home offices. Automox has more than 170 employees based in the U.S.

Automox was included in Built In’s 100 Best Places to Work in Colorado this year.
