What can be just as important as the work you do, is the location you’re doing it from. A great environment promotes great work and we got the chance to look into four Colorado offices built to encourage excellent professional output, and fun when the work stops. Read on to find out what makes these offices remarkable. Warning: There’s a lot of pizza in this article, so you may get hungry. Enjoy.

Conga’s office has amenities that might make a Dave & Buster’s jealous. From an in-house pizza kitchen to an arcade room to swing sets, the automation solution provider is serious about making sure its team members are well-fed and having a good time. Manager of Workplace Services Lisa McCormick discussed the office’s unique features.

What’s the coolest or most unique feature of your office, and how does this reflect the culture of your company?

Hands down, the coolest thing about our new office is The Conga Hub. It features a fully-serviced kitchen that serves breakfast and lunch, like made-to-order omelets, eggplant parmesan and pizza with the toppings of your choice; a fireplace complete with cozy furniture and guitars; and a game room with foosball, pool, ping pong, shuffleboard tables and an arcade room. We spared no expense on the Hub because we want our teams to have a place to relax and enjoy their home away from home. And you can’t beat the large swing that hangs at the overhead garage doors, letting you swing from inside to outside and back again. The Hub reflects the Conga employee’s personality through its fun, vibrant, relaxed and bold environment.

What’s your team’s favorite part of the office and why?

We have a lot of great spaces in our office, but I would say that our favorite part is the Hub and how easily accessible it is for everyone in the building. It’s centrally based, so the work areas on both sides of our 88,000 square-foot space each have a portal that connects to the kitchen and the Hub. People can be found eating lunch together outside around the family-style tables or in the adjacent game areas. It assists in the creative processes and helps our employees stay refreshed and recharged.

When your office has a gathering space just as well suited for karaoke and costume parties as it is for international team meetings, you might have someplace special. SpotX’s Experiences Manager Kali MacKenzie shared details on how the adtech company’s training room is as multipurpose as it gets.

What’s the coolest or most unique feature of your office, and how does this reflect the culture of your company?

Our office is designed to support all work styles. In our fourth-floor kitchen space, we provide employees with breakfast every Friday. Across from the kitchen, there is a large space with tables and sofas for employees to sit and enjoy their meals together. We also have a balcony for everyone to catch a breath of fresh air on those beautiful, sunny Colorado days. The open layout of the space creates a relaxed atmosphere encouraging collaboration and inspiring innovation.

All the teams even pitch in to help with dish duty on a rotating basis. The space is a true representation of SpotX’s collaborative work culture that in many ways feels like family. For those that prefer a quiet, independent work environment, we have a number of phone booths and small conference rooms available for all team members.

What’s your team’s favorite part of the office and why?

Our team’s favorite part of the office is our spacious training room. As part of our company-wide commitment to professional development, we have a huge space that is bookable by all employees for small or large groups. We encourage teams to hold everything from learning sessions with leadership executives to team-building exercises within the space. The garage doors in the room open up to adjust the size of the space to suit all needs. We’ve held quarterly town hall meetings with our global team, holiday parties, costume competitions, new hire lunches, trainings and after-hours karaoke nights here. Bringing our team members together for such a wide variety of events inspires creativity, teamwork and collaboration.

Inspirato’s office space gives team members the chance to feel like they’re outside, even in the worst Colorado winters. Director of Quality Assurance Matt DuBois said the company set up a full-scale golf simulator and Pelotons for employees to unwind. There is also plenty of professionally made pizza and beer to help with that effort.

What’s the coolest or most unique feature of your office, and how does this reflect the culture of your company?

What makes our office unique is our “play area.” We have an indoor golf simulator and exercise bikes provided by a couple of our partners, AboutGolf and Peloton, that can be reserved by team members to break a sweat over lunch or play a relaxing 18 holes at Pebble Beach with friends after a long day. We enjoy the people we work with, stress work-life balance and try to cultivate a “work-hard, play-hard” mentality on our teams.

What’s your team’s favorite part of the office and why?

Our team’s favorite part of the office is our tech floor. The space was formerly a restaurant, and we still have the high ceilings, outdoor patio, bar with beer taps and even a wood-fired pizza oven. We use it for most of our company gatherings and have pizza professionals that come in to make us delicious pies while we enjoy beers and mingle with co-workers in the sun out on the patio.

GoSpotCheck has an entire floor they can customize on a moment’s notice. Vice President of People Operations Brian Nishi said the layout of one office floor can be changed based on the event that’s taking place, and the possibilities are virtually endless.

What’s the coolest or most unique feature of your office, and how does this reflect the culture of your company?

We’re really lucky to have a four-floor building all to ourselves. The first floor is very unique in that all the furniture is on wheels, which allows us to change the setup of the room to match the intent or vibe of the meeting. For all-hands meetings, we can set it up like an amphitheater. For planning sessions, we can convert the tables into whiteboards to improve collaboration. For meetup groups or Denver Startup Week, we can set it up as a social space, which is also highly visible from the outside because of the floor-to-ceiling glass.

What’s your team’s favorite part of the office and why?

We have a roof patio where people can work, socialize, blow off steam or just wrap up their week with an outdoor team meeting. It gets utilized all the time and it’s amazing how being outside can change the mood of a meeting.
