Colorado tech brought in more than $20M in March. Here are the top 5 rounds

Colorado’s tech fundings hit a slight rough patch in March, closing just over $20 million in funding — a significant drop from the $87 million raised in February. But with some big-name acquisitions and mergers last month, including PivotDesk, Denverite and Zen Planner, it was still a big month for Colorado tech. And roughly half of the companies that raised money this month raised at least $1 million. Check out the top five rounds below.

 

5. CirrusMD, $1.6 million, March 20

Investors: Not disclosed

What they do: CirrusMD allows doctors to securely text with their patients using a custom messaging portal.

Recent news: The company expects significant growth following the funding.

 

4. Digabit, $2.4 million, March 27

Investors: Not disclosed.

What they do: Digabit’s software allows parts manufacturers to easily create catalogs in the cloud.

Recent news: The company appointed a new CFO this month.


3. Ello, $2.5 million, March 13

Investors: Not disclosed

What they do: Ello is a social network designed for artists and creators who want to share their work with one another.

Recent news: A week after the funding, Ellos’ co-founder launched a new Snapchat alternative called Wuu.


2. Kwippit, $3 million, March 17

Investors: Not disclosed.

What they do: Kwippit’s messaging app is full of images you can insert into messages, making texting more fun.

Recent news: The company’s co-founder and CEO Rob Horning was profiled in a recent Tech.co piece.

 

1. Closetbox, $5.5 million, March 22

Investors: Not disclosed.

What they do: Using Closetbox’s website, consumers with too much stuff (who don’t want to get rid of it all) can schedule storage services on-demand.

Recent news: Along with their funding round, Closetbox launched in the Bay Area this month, too.
