Lead long-term strategy and architecture for cloud and on‑prem platform infrastructure, driving Kubernetes and multi‑cloud reliability, IaC/GitOps automation, observability, SLO/SLI/error‑budget practices, incident leadership, AI‑augmented tooling adoption, and mentorship of senior engineers to improve platform resilience and developer experience.

Lead and grow a backend/platform engineering team building API-driven systems and core services. Own technical direction, architecture, reliability, and integration with product, data science, and infrastructure. Hire and mentor engineers, contribute to code and architecture, support incident response, and ensure scalable, secure, production-ready backend APIs and platform tooling.

Lead a CI/CD/IDP engineering team to improve release velocity, security, and compliance. Own Secure SDLC, software supply chain controls, GitOps-driven pipelines, developer self-service, pipeline performance/FinOps, and alignment with audits (FedRAMP/SOC 2). Mentor engineers, set roadmap, and deliver audit-ready release processes at scale.

Operate and automate large-scale data plane services (Cassandra, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, etc.), build infrastructure for a devops model, troubleshoot production incidents, and ensure petabyte-scale data is secure, available, and efficiently managed.

Own and implement platform initiatives to improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience. Automate infrastructure with IaC, operate Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, build developer tools, monitor platform resilience, participate in incident response, and influence architecture and processes as you grow.

Lead delivery for the Batch Infrastructure team: design, build, and operate reliable, scalable compute platforms for scheduled and on-demand batch workloads. Collaborate with product/design/analytics, define technical plans, ensure availability (monitoring/on-call), set code and design standards, and mentor engineers to improve delivery and quality.

Support and maintain high-availability on-air broadcast, media, and streaming systems across on-prem and AWS. Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and vendor coordination. Build reusable infrastructure patterns, perform reliability improvements, upgrades, and preventive maintenance. Develop runbooks, operational standards, and mentor team members. Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule and occasionally support tier-1 events in person.

Ensure stability and resilience of Runpod's distributed AI platform by defining SLIs/SLOs, leading incident response, building observability and reliability tooling, automating operational workflows, and partnering with engineering teams to reduce toil and improve production readiness.

Build automated reliability and self-healing platform tooling to protect production at scale. Improve incident management, reduce alert noise, evolve observability (monitoring, SLOs, performance detection), and develop AI-driven operational automation. Partner with product teams to diagnose reliability gaps, drive incident prevention, and champion operational excellence and best practices across engineering.

Design and build tooling, workflows, and guidance to make GitLab easier to deploy, validate, and operate across cloud-native, self-managed, and ephemeral environments. Shape deployment architecture, topology, scaling principles, and platform contracts while collaborating with application, infrastructure, and delivery teams.
