Compensation: $140,000 - $170,000 plus bonus

THE OPPORTUNITY
Meridian Partners is actively seeking a Workday Talent & Learning Sr. Consultant to join our expanding public sector consulting team. This role is ideal for an experienced, results-driven consultant with a deep understanding of Workday’s Talent and Learning modules and a strong track record of delivering implementations specifically for public sector clients. You will be at the forefront of helping government organizations modernize their talent and learning strategies through Workday's robust platform.
You will lead and support Talent & Learning module implementations for a variety of clients, ensuring that project delivery aligns with the unique operational, compliance, and workforce development needs of public agencies and institutions.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Client Engagement & Solutioning
- Partner with public-sector clients to understand Talent and Performance program requirements, with Learning expertise considered a plus.
- Lead collaborative discovery sessions to translate business goals into effective Workday Talent configurations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client HR and organizational development teams, aligning Talent and Learning strategies with agency-wide workforce goals.
- Collaborate closely with the Practice Director to ensure solution design, scope, and delivery align with project governance, risk management, and Meridian’s methodology.
System Configuration & Testing
- Lead configuration and deployment of Workday Talent solutions—Performance, Succession, Career, and Optimization—with Learning implementation experience preferred.
- Develop configuration documentation, testing scripts, and data validation plans following Meridian’s QA and MDF standards.
- Demonstrate system prototypes and gather feedback from client stakeholders to refine configurations and validate business outcomes.
- Ensure all configurations support state and local compliance requirements for training, certifications, and workforce development.
Implementation Methodology & Governance
- Apply Meridian’s Workday Delivery Framework (MDF) and Workday Delivery Implementation Methodology (WDIM) to all phases of delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation and deliverables aligned with project quality checkpoints.
- Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning in partnership with the Practice Director and Project Manager.
- Provide weekly updates to the Practice Director on project progress, key challenges, and innovative solutions that improve client outcomes.
Best Practices & Optimization
- Recommend Talent and Learning best practices that promote adoption, employee engagement, and performance growth.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process simplification, and improved analytics using Workday dashboards and Learning Reports.
- Collaborate with the Practice Director to refine internal accelerators, templates, and knowledge assets to strengthen the Talent & Learning practice.
Practice Enablement & Leadership
- Mentor junior consultants by modeling strong client engagement, Workday configuration discipline, and delivery excellence.
- Contribute to Meridian’s internal training and continuous improvement programs by sharing lessons learned and reusable assets.
- Support cross-practice collaboration to ensure end-to-end client success.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING FOR SUCCESS
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of Workday consulting experience, with a strong focus on Talent, Learning, and/or Performance Management modules.
- Minimum of 1 year experience delivering Workday projects for public sector clients (state, local, federal, or K-12).
- Proven ability to translate public sector goals and regulatory requirements into actionable Workday configurations.
- Active Workday Certifications in Talent and/or Learning required (must be current).
- Excellent stakeholder communication and facilitation skills, particularly in multi-agency or committee-driven environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently, often with government-imposed deadlines.
- Familiarity with workforce development initiatives, compliance tracking, and learning program administration within public entities.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
- Workday Public Sector deployment experience required, including clients with union requirements, civil service structures, or regulated compliance training programs.
