The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, Meridian Partners seeks a seasoned and client-focused Workday Integrations consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of integrations between Workday and external systems. This role requires deep knowledge of Workday integration frameworks, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns. You will guide the full lifecycle of integration delivery—from requirements gathering and solution architecture to development, testing, and production support—ensuring robust, scalable, and secure integrations for Workday HCM, Finance, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, and other modules.

Responsibilities

Integration Strategy & Architecture 

  • Lead the Workday Integrations workstream for mid- to large-scale Workday implementations and post-production enhancement initiatives.
  • Partner with client stakeholders to understand business processes, technical requirements, data flows, and security constraints.
  • Design scalable, secure integration architectures aligned with Workday best practices and client enterprise ecosystems.
  • Identify integration risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts, proactively defining mitigation and remediation strategies.

Solution Design & Development

  • Design, build, and deploy integrations using Workday integration technologies, including:

      • Workday Studio

      • Core Connectors (e.g., Payroll, Benefits, HR, Position)

      • Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) – inbound and outbound

      • Workday REST & SOAP APIs

      • Cloud Connect packages

  • Develop XSLT-based transformations, data mappings, parsing logic, and error-handling frameworks.
  • Implement secure transport mechanisms such as SFTP, HTTPS, and API-based integrations
  • Ensure all integration solutions adhere to architectural, security, audit, and performance standards.

Testing, Validation & Cutover 

  • Create detailed test plans, unit test scripts, and integration validation procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues, and data mapping discrepancies across environments.
  • Support end-to-end integration testing, UAT cycles, and go-live cutover activities.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and audit logging for production integrations.

Client Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Serve as the Workday Integrations subject matter expert during client workshops, design sessions, and technical reviews.
  • Partner with functional leads to align integration behavior with Workday business processes and downstream systems.
  • Mentor junior integration developers and collaborate with onshore and offshore technical resources.
  • Advise clients on Workday’s integration roadmap, product updates, and optimization opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Workday integration development experience, including multiple full lifecycle implementations.
  • Expertise with Workday integration frameworks, including:
  • Workday Studio
  • Core Connectors (especially Payroll, Benefits, and Worker)
  • EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder)
  • Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP)
  • Strong understanding of Workday HCM data model and security architecture.
  • Proficiency in XML, XSLT, XPath, JSON, Web Services, and SFTP.
  • Solid programming or scripting experience in languages such as Java, Python, or PowerShell (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with integration middleware (Dell Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services) is a plus.
  • Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable integration solutions.
  • Workday Integration Certification Required
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience

Pay Transparency

Compensation for roles at Meridian varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific practice, role, skillset, and level of experience. As required by law, Meridian provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.

Base Salary Range is $140,000 to $170,000 plus bonus is available for this specific role.
