This role bridges business needs and system capabilities—translating functional requirements into Workday solutions that enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and user experience. The analyst will partner closely with HR, Payroll, and IT stakeholders to maintain system integrity, deliver high-quality reports, and support ongoing process improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Build and manage condition rules, notifications, calculated fields, and security roles that support functional and compliance needs.
  • Execute configuration changes through Workday’s tenant management process, ensuring proper documentation and approval workflows.
  • Monitor release notes and apply Workday-delivered enhancements relevant to HCM and Payroll.
  • Develop and maintain custom Workday reports, including advanced, matrix, composite, and BIRT reports to support HR, Finance, and Payroll operations.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Support testing cycles, including UAT and regression testing for configuration updates, integrations, and Workday releases.
  • Provide day-to-day support for issue resolution, troubleshooting, and end-user inquiries related to HCM and Payroll.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configuration, process changes, and operational procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in Workday business process configuration, calculated fields, condition rules, and security administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Report Writer and Workday Payroll functionality (gross-to-net, retro pay, costing allocations, pay components).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical configuration and reporting solutions.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while driving deliverables to completion.
  • Exhibits a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and service orientation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2–4 years of direct experience configuring and supporting Workday HCM and/or Payroll.
  • Workday Pro certification in HCM or Payroll preferred.
  • Experience with Workday EIBs.
  • Exposure to Workday Extend or other HRIS platforms is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift 15 pounds.
