The Web Developer will manage WordPress websites focusing on development, optimization, and performance, collaborating with teams for best results.
We’re looking for a highly skilled Web Developer with deep experience in WordPress to join our creative and marketing team. The ideal candidate is an expert problem solver who thrives on building, optimizing, and maintaining dynamic websites that deliver seamless user experiences and measurable results.
This role will own all aspects of web development for our Rankings website and our events website, ensuring both platforms stay fast, secure, visually engaging, and aligned with our brand and marketing goals. You’ll take the lead on implementing new features, refining site performance, and driving continuous improvement across both properties.
Responsibilities- Own the development, maintenance, and optimization of the company and events websites
- Collaborate with designers, marketers, and content creators to bring creative concepts to life
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex website issues efficiently
- Implement Figma designs to produce consistently styled and tested front end
- Manage hosting environments, staging, and deployment processes
- Integrate third-party APIs, plugins, and marketing tools as needed
- Ensure SEO-friendly architecture and clean, efficient code
- Monitor security plugin for errors and ability to coordinate site cleaning with WPEngine and security provider
- Stay current with evolving web standards, WordPress updates, and security practices
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development
- Expert proficiency in PHP, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Expert understanding of WordPress architecture, themes (Elementor, WPBakery), and plugin
- Hands-on experience with WP Engine, cPanel, or similar hosting environments
- Advanced experience with ACF, including rendering custom fields with PHP and building custom Gutenberg blocks
- Proficient in creating Gravity Forms using the latest GF framework and add-ons (no legacy classes)
- Ability to work collaboratively with distributed teams using Slack, Zoom, and Loom
- Comfortable working remotely using project management tools such as ClickUp
- Excellent problem-solving ability and sharp attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong adaptability to changing requirements and priorities
- Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting project deadlines
