Join BAE Systems' Air & Space Force Solutions and be part of a diverse team that solves complex technical challenges in manufacturing and production flow. The Weapons Storage and Security System (WS3), Vault Modernization Program (VMP), modernizes vaults at various locations worldwide, focusing on areas such as vault-unlock codes, diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages, and maintenance capabilities.
Key Objectives
The project focuses on optimizing manufacturing and production flow to achieve efficient and secure vault modernization. Key objectives include:• Developing and implement a streamlined design and review process to achieve contract milestones • Implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements• Analyzing and optimizing production flow to identify areas for improvement and reduce costs
The Role
The Engineer Sr - Software will be responsible for leading the software engineering effort for the VMP, ensuring that all software components meet requirements and are properly integrated.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement software engineering plans, procedures, and standards, including those related to NSA Certification and Nuclear Certification
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify and meet software engineering requirements, including those related to VUMS, VMCS, and MDNS
  • Analyze and assess software performance to identify areas for improvement, including those related to cyber-security and nuclear surety
  • Develop and maintain software engineering documentation and databases, including those related to software design and testing
  • Manage government Acquisition Category (ACAT) deliverables to meet acquisition timeline and major milestones (SRR, PDR etc...)

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor with 4+ years of experience or Masters with 2+ years of experience
  • Experience with software systems engineering in a defense or aerospace program (ACAT)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with software engineering tools, including those related to software design and testing
  • Must be able to obtain Secret (or higher) security clearance
  • Capable of creating required engineering documentation using Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Access

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience in testing, commissioning and validation activities
  • Experience with other Digital Engineering tools as applicalble
  • Familiar with Department of Defense programs
  • Project Management Professional Certification

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
