Summary
The Vice President, Revenue Cycle Performance and Partnerships (VPPP) provides strategic leadership and oversight of revenue cycle operations across assigned markets, ensuring achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial outcomes. This role is responsible for driving company-wide initiatives that optimize billing, collections, payer relations, and compliance, while enhancing the customer financial experience. The VPPP collaborates cros sfunctionally with departments such as Finance, Accounting, Treasury, HIM, Compliance, Enterprise Operations, People, Legal, and M&A to align resources, reduce friction, and support scalable growth. 
As a trusted advisor and performance partner, the VPPP uses data-driven insights to identify vulnerabilities, recommend solutions, and influence decision-making at the executive level. The role fosters a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, innovation, and service excellence.

Qualifications
Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare 
  • Administration or related field.

Work Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, consulting, and/or project management.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications, Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience, etc.:

  • Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Revenue Cycle Technical Expertise

  • Subject matter expert in professional billing workflows, payer practices, and reimbursement methodologies across diverse healthcare settings.
  • Deep understanding of managed care contracting, including payer terms, rate structures, and contract compliance.
  • Experienced in denials management, including root cause analysis, appeals strategy, and prevention tactics to reduce revenue leakage.
  • Knowledge of compliance vulnerabilities within the revenue cycle, including billing regulations, coding accuracy, and audit readiness.
  • Ability to identify provider documentation gaps and recommend operational improvements that support accurate billing and reimbursement.
  • Skilled in optimizing payment efficiency and effectiveness, including leveraging payer portals, automation tools, and digital workflows.
  • Familiar with revenue cycle technologies, including EMRs, billing platforms, clearinghouses, and analytics tools that enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team Member Leadership & Development
• Provides strategic oversight of revenue cycle leadership teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and performance expectations.
 
• Directly manages revenue cycle team members and vendors in assigned markets, ensuring that team members have clearly defined roles and responsibilities with measures of success and expectations for performance.
• Where appropriate, delegates day-to-day team member management, onboarding, and performance coaching to revenue cycle leaders, while setting standards for accountability and success.
• Partners with the People Team to shape workforce strategy, including leadership development, succession planning, and organizational design.
• Establishes a leadership culture focused on empowerment, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement across the team and all levels of the revenue cycle organization.
• Establishes regular cadences of one-on-ones, team meetings and all-hands meetings to provide leadership support, structure, accountability, recognition and learning opportunities.
Reporting & Analytics
• Defines and oversees KPIs and financial metrics to evaluate revenue cycle performance across assigned markets.
• Contributes to the development of executive dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Uses data-driven analysis to identify systemic issues, forecast trends, and recommend strategic interventions to improve financial outcomes and operational efficiency.

Partnership & Performance
• Builds and maintains strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including market leaders, clinical operations, finance, and compliance teams.
• Leads strategic performance reviews with market executives, identifying opportunities for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and improved revenue capture.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline revenue cycle processes, reduce friction, and enhance the customer experience.
• Participates in quarterly strategic planning sessions to align revenue cycle initiatives with broader organizational and market-specific goals.

Collaboration & Organizational Change
• Leads targeted initiatives focused on revenue cycle transformation, including technology adoption, process redesign, and cost optimization.
• Serves as a key contributor to cross-functional projects that impact financial operations, ensuring alignment with revenue cycle strategy and compliance standards.
• Acts as a change agent, driving adoption of new systems, workflows, and cultural shifts that support innovation and long-term scalability.

Customer Success & Service Excellence
• Aligns actions to the strategic vision for the patient financial experience, ensuring revenue cycle operations support transparency, accuracy, and satisfaction.
• Contributes to escalation protocols and service recovery strategies, delegating resolutions to appropriate leaders while maintaining visibility into systemic issues.
• Partners with Patient Account Services teams to ensure compliance with service level agreements, identify trends in customer feedback and recommend proactive improvements that reduce friction and enhance service delivery..
• Monitors patient campaigns for revenue optimization and partners on collection agency efforts and strategy.
