Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Media Strategy & Planning to lead integrated media strategies for pharmaceutical and healthcare brands. This senior leader will combine strategic vision, regulatory expertise, and innovation to deliver impactful campaigns across HCP and DTC audiences. 

You’ll work at the intersection of creativity and science, partnering with clients, internal teams, and industry leaders to craft omni-channel media solutions that drive measurable impact.  

The ideal candidate will excel at managing complex, multi-channel campaigns within the highly regulated pharmaceutical landscape, ensuring compliance while delivering creative and effective solutions. This role requires a proven ability to translate business objectives into measurable outcomes, consistently demonstrating success in elevating pharmaceutical brands and achieving performance goals. A forward-thinking mindset, combined with strong analytical and leadership skills, is essential to guide teams and shape strategies that influence patient engagement and brand growth. 

Team Leadership  

  • Mentor and manage a team of seasoned and junior media planners. 

  • Foster a culture of compliance, innovation, and strategic excellence. 

  • Oversee resource allocation and training on Pharma and media best practices. 

  • Lead omni-channel media planning, including paid, owned, and earned media.  

  • Translate insights from research, analytics, and cultural trends into actionable media strategies.  

  • Oversee campaign development, scheduling, and optimization across all media channels. 

  • Accountability for team’s work and client satisfaction. 

Client Management  

  • Serve as a senior Media advisor to pharmaceutical clients and internal leadership. 

  • Collaborate with creative, regulatory, and medical teams to ensure message integrity. 

  • Ensure connectivity across internal teams (creative, analytics, investment) and external partners.  

  • Participate in new business efforts and strategic presentations. 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive media strategies that support brand and performance marketing goals. 

  • Ensure alignment of media plans with overall marketing and business objectives. 

  • Drive innovation in media planning through emerging technologies and platforms. 

  • Provide overall media thought-leadership. 

Budget & Operations  

  • Oversee multi-million-dollar media budgets with strict compliance and cost control. 

  • Ensure adherence to agency and client financial standards. 

Qualifications

Skills:  

  • Deep understanding of pharma media channels, regulatory requirements, and audience segmentation. 

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights. 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills. 

  • Familiarity with ad tech, measurement tools, and emerging media trends. 

Experience: 

  • 15+ years of experience leading media teams, driving business results, solid track record of team building, leadership and creative problem-solving skills.
