The Opportunity:

The VP, Marketing Consulting will be responsible for the leadership, development, execution and success of Marketing Consulting for the company. As the Marketing Consulting leader, this individual will lead an experienced team of consultants responsible for marketing advisory and fulfillment services to Velera’s financial institution clients (FIs) including:

  • B2C marketing strategic planning

  • Development of annual marketing calendars

  • Execution of client marketing campaigns

As the Marketing Consulting leader, this individual will create and implement effective strategies to: grow the Marketing subscription portfolio, help clients achieve measurable portfolio growth, expand advisory and campaign fulfillment services, and optimize internal delivery of a large portfolio B2C campaigns. This position will establish revenue forecasts with sales targets and manage the pipeline of new and existing marketing subscription clients. This individual will elevate Velera’s brand presence as marketing leaders in the industry by producing written thought leadership as well as attending and speaking at industry events. The individual is responsible for establishing and fostering relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally while positioning the value proposition of Velera’s marketing consulting solutions to new and existing clients. The individual will develop best practices and methodologies to successfully maintain a high-quality business process, P&L management, and professional image for Velera within the banking industry.

Day in the Life:

  • Serve as the head of Velera’s marketing advisory and subscription services with ultimate responsibility for overall success of operations and achieving client portfolio growth objectives.

  • Develop Velera’s consulting strategic plan as a member of the consulting leadership team and own critical initiatives with significant impact towards organizational goals.

  • Lead a team of Marketing Consultants responsible for expert advisory engagements and achieving client growth goals through research, design, and coordination of annual marketing campaigns.

  • Lead a team of Marketing Campaign Analysts responsible for the timely execution and client growth goals of campaign delivery channels, including email, texting, direct mail, and push marketing.

  • Provide expertise in B2C products, services, solutions, delivery channel, and consumer trends to advise FIs on best practices and optimize our evolving solution offering.

  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on marketing opportunities.

  • Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business.

  • Apply market trends, competitive and consumer research to assist our FIs with their marketing campaigns.

  • Provide guidance to Marketing Consultants in developing campaign messages and creatives tailored to engage different consumer personas.

  • Play a strategic thought leadership role in understanding marketplace trends to identify growth opportunities for our FIS.

  • Lead B2C market research to understand the needs of B2C companies and to bring those insights to our FIS.

  • Thoroughly understand the competitive landscape, products and consumers, buying triggers, and influencers.

  • Interact effectively, proactively and responsively with the highest levels of executive management, both externally senior executives of FIs and internally within Velera.

  • Act as a professional resource and mentor in contributing both to client engagements and internal discussions with Velera Consultants.

  • Champion change leadership to enhance Velera’s consulting services and foster a culture of Entrepreneurial innovation where consultants are driven to find new solutions that benefit our clients.

  • Lead and mentor preparation, articulation, and execution of business cases and implementation plans.

  • Engage C-suite executives in dialogue and problem solving and support consulting team in doing same, to build relationships and identify new business opportunities in pursuit of outstanding member satisfaction.

  • Contribute to Velera revenue growth by developing content for marketing and sales collateral, public relations, trade press, and related promotional materials.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of trends and developments within financial services industry to determine future strategies and potential mutually beneficial partnership opportunities.

  • Speak at, participate in panel discussions at and attend industry trade shows, seminars, user groups, and conferences.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years of experience in strategic and B2C marketing required, preferably for a consulting firm.

  • Five (5) years of experience in payments marketing in the banking industry.

  • Five (5) years of experience managing teams, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people required.

  • Proven experience in B2B/B2C marketing practices, processes and technologies to help drive consumer adoption of products and solutions required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Pay Equity

$134,500.00 - $174,900.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
