About the Job:

We’re looking for a Vice President of Internal Communications to lead global internal communications that strengthens our talent brand and employee experience, and tightly aligns with customer communications for message coherence.  Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role sits at the intersection of culture, brand, and reputation, ensuring that how we communicate externally is deeply aligned with who we are internally.

You’ll serve as LaunchDarkly’s chief storyteller and communications leader, crafting a unified narrative that inspires employees, enhances engagement and amplifies our values across a global organization., You will own Internal Communications and Employee Communications — and build a best-in-class team that amplifies our voice and values across the world.

This is a highly strategic, hands-on role that will build the foundation for a best-in-class internal communications function, with tight alignment to external communications led by our marketing team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy that enhances LaunchDarkly’s global reputation and reinforces our mission, vision, and values.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief People Officer, CEO, President and executive team on all aspects of communications, talent brand reputation, and culture storytelling.
  • Shape and evolve a cohesive corporate narrative that connects LaunchDarkly’s purpose — helping every software team build better, faster — with our market position and company culture.
  • Lead internal communications to ensure employees are informed, inspired, and connected to LaunchDarkly’s mission and strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with People, Marketing, Product, Finance and other teams to align communications strategies with business goals and company milestones.
  • Create feedback loops that surface insights into employee sentiment and inform communication priorities.
  • Establish clear metrics for success, operational discipline, and scalable systems to measure communications impact.

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in Internal or Employee c Communications, Talent Brand, or related strategic communications roles., including leadership roles within high-growth or enterprise B2B organizations.
  • Proven track record building and leading integrated communications strategies that elevate brand reputation and employee engagement.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, and executive communication skills with experience influencing C-level leaders and boards.
  • Deep understanding of how to manage communications strategy through periods of transformation and scale.
  • Experience leveraging employee insights and engagement data to shape communication strategies.
  • A collaborative leadership style and commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, transparency, and accountability.

Pay:

Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level E1:    

  • Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle - $378,000 - $520,000**
  • Zone 2: Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago - $340,000 - $468,000**
  • Zone 3: All other US locations - $321,000 - 442,000**
  • All ranges inclusive of a 20% Bonus Target

LaunchDarkly operates from a place of high trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

*Within the United States, our geographic pay zones are defined by counties surrounding major metropolitan areas.
**Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.
