Zayo is seeking a Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), reporting to the SVP Corporate FP&A. Our VP of FP&A is responsible for the Financial Planning & Analysis function. As a member of the Finance leadership team, our VP of FP&A will interact closely with the Executive Leadership Team, our Private Equity investors and our external public and private market lenders. The position plays a pivotal role in influencing the Company’s growth trajectory and our associated value creation.

*Our ideal candidate will work in a hybrid capacity out of our Denver, CO headquarters (1401 Wynkoop) or be open to relocation.

Responsibilities:
 

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

  • Manage annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.

  • Provide Actual vs. Budget reporting & analytics.

  • Create financial models for short, medium, and long-range (5-year) planning.

  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team and Private Equity Investors on setting parameters for the Annual Incentive Plan.

Management Reporting

  • Own delivery of content for Investor weekly/monthly operating reviews, Executive Leadership Team quarterly operating reviews, and Board management reviews.

  • Provide month to month fluctuation and historical trending and analysis of financial and operating metrics.

  • Support the Accounting Team month-end close process, Executive Team with management reviews, and Investors with Q&A.

Data Insights

  • Establish and define key financial and operating metrics that drive value creation.

  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis that provides insights into business performance.

  • Analyze cross-functional information to support management decision making.

  • Own the Company’s data dictionary, partnering with the CIO and IT Data Team on data governance, architecture, and analytics tools.

People, Process and Systems

  • Manage a team of 15+ FP&A professionals.

  • Administer One Stream financial tool and linkages with Salesforce, Oracle, and Workday

  • Streamline and align processes with corporate operating mechanisms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA), preferred.

  • 10-15 years of FP&A experience at similarly sophisticated companies ideally some within telecom, high speed fiber or other tech infrastructure companies.

  • Deep subject matter expertise in FP&A. Experience having led the functions for an organization of comparable size, growth profile and complexity.

  • Independent, self-motivated individual with a positive, service-focused attitude. Excellent judgment with a strong work ethic.

  • Strong collaborator and partner with demonstrated ability to drive cross functional collaboration across business and finance teams at all levels.

  • Analytical thinker with honed problem solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to streamline and simplify complexity.

  • Track record of building, leading, and inspiring high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Highly responsible, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.

  • Capable of successfully managing C-level and investor relationships and effectively partnering on strategy development, financial planning and execution.

  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings; experience with investors and investor relations is preferred.

  • Depending on the candidate's location, must have flexibility to travel, as needed.

 

Estimated Base Pay Range: $235,000 - $265,000 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
