Position Overview 

The VP of Finance will serve as the company’s senior financial leader and strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team. This is a hands-on, builder role responsible for owning and scaling all financial operations, supporting rapid growth, ensuring regulatory and investor readiness, and building a world-class finance function.  

This leader must be equally comfortable in the weeds and at the board table, able to drive FP&A, budgeting, and modeling while also building systems, managing audits, leading capital strategy, and scaling infrastructure. 

Key Responsibilities 

Financial Strategy & FP&A 

- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling 

- Build and maintain unit economics, growth models, and ROI analyses 

- Deliver monthly reporting and variance analysis to CEO and Board 

Accounting & Controls 

- Oversee close processes and ensure GAAP compliance 

- Manage audits, tax filings, and technical accounting matters 

Capital Strategy & Investor Relations 

- Prepare board decks, investor reports, and diligence materials 

- Partner with CEO on runway forecasting, capital efficiency, and valuation modeling 

- Serve as lead for investor Q&A and data rooms 

InsurTech-Specific Operations 

- Manage GWP and revenue tracking, carrier capacity economics, commissions, and reinsurance modeling 

Systems & Automation 

- Build scalable financial systems, tools, and automation to support growth 

Leadership & Culture 

- Develop a high-ownership, execution-first finance team 

- Partner with HR on compensation, equity planning, and hiring affordability 

- Support M&A analysis, integration, and post-acquisition modeling 

Risk & Governance 

- Ensure data integrity, fraud prevention, and financial policy compliance 

- Own spend authorization, T&E, vendor onboarding, and contract review 

Qualifications & Experience 

- 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles 

- Prior experience in SaaS, FinTech, InsurTech, or regulated financial services 

- Experience in FP&A, Accounting, Capital planning, Audit & Compliance, Revenue recognition 

- Must be: hands-on 

- Builder minded 

- Data driven 

- Executive presence with Board and Investors

- Bachelor’s degree

Compensation & Benefits 

- Pay Range: $200,000 – $225,000 annually (commensurate with experience and location) 

- Total Compensation Context: This role may be eligible for annual performance bonuses and equity participation
