A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:
This role has several focal points – Developing and managing a team of direct-report consultants, delivering client service excellence/performance improvement/ROI, and business growth & development. In addition to leading and delivering high quality client work, this role focuses on developing each team member to increase their capability to become consultative and transformational with our client organizations. The VP, Consulting follows a focused mentoring and coaching model to enhance capabilities, centered on ‘True Consulting’ as a way of providing solutions and technologies to client organizations over several years. The major emphasis is on increasing consulting skills through development, and crafting solutions that deliver safety performance results and ROI for our clients. The best result is the client seeing their DEKRA consultant as a long-term trusted advisor, and DEKRA seeing a longer and more profitable client relationship.
What You’ll Do:
- Actively contribute to a culture of safety and health by demonstrating accountability, communication, and oversight in the following key areas: Strategic Alignment, Accountability, Performance Monitoring, Reports, Communication & Engagement, Incident Management, and Corrective Actions.
- Provides performance management and feedback to their direct reports and their project team members.
- Focuses on the development of Consulting Competencies for each consultant through modelling and mentorship.
- Coaches and mentors through ongoing conversations as well as during client site shadowing. Support, coach and mentor team members as they navigate internal and client opportunities. Focus on team members assigned projects with a view to identifying opportunities for improvement and growth, as well as risks.
- Works with the wider consulting organization to find opportunities on projects that stretch and develop individuals. Ensures advocacy for team members. Creates development opportunities that further individual careers and DEKRA goals.
- Contributes to DEKRA IP by developing new materials, writing articles for publication, and participating in problem-solving teams as appropriate.
- Provides specific contributions related to thought leadership and DEKRA events (SIA, Leadership Summit, Speaking Engagements, etc.).
- Advances Business Development opportunities with existing clients and projects.
- Provide sales support as needed, including major engagement design collaboration with BDVPs.
- Participate in the selection and onboarding of new consultants in Strategic Consulting.
- Deliver high-quality client work and model client excellence.
- Actively participates in Strategtic Consulting Operations Leadership Team and Strategic Resourcing calls.

What You’ll Bring:
- Evident understanding and skills to administer performance management objectives and supervision of teams
- Demonstrated skills and success in effective project leadership, program management, and project forecasting
- Evident skills in sales and business development, including discovery, scoping, proposal writing, influencing the buying decision, and negotiating with client contacts and procurement.
- Prior specific experience in safety related or operational leadership roles at the business unit or corporate level within related industry environments
- Experience in public speaking and/or senior level group facilitation
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring
- Influencing experience at all client organizational levels
- Ability to identify problems, apply critical thinking, and research potential solutions
- High degree of professionalism and skill in verbal and written communications
- Ability to develop strong and genuine client relationships.
- High personal credibility with all client organizational levels
- Strong experience with organizational initiatives in safety
- Experience with operations in various industries
- Strong understanding of behavior analysis related to safety
- Understanding of cross-cultural differences
- Background in Industrial Safety or Hygiene preferred
- Advanced degree in related fields desirable
Physical Considerations:
- Must be able to travel to and work in a variety of client locations, environments and conditions such as: climbing stairs, walking long distances, walking on rough terrain, working in the heat and/or cold, indoors or outdoors.
- Must be able to accommodate working during various shifts as assessment activities are scheduled.
- Some remote client locations require long periods of driving.
- Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs.

What You’ll Receive for the Value You Bring:
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $190,000 annually to $235,000 annually. This position is designated as bonus-eligible, subject to plan terms and conditions. Actual pay is based on several factors, including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
