Role Description

The Head of Data Science and AI Platform will provide visionary leadership for our comprehensive data science and AI initiatives, developing and executing strategies that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role involves balancing innovation in both predictive modeling and generative AI applications, while building and scaling high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and translating complex data into actionable insights that fuel product innovation and business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Define and execute enterprise AI strategies aligned with business goals, while owning delivery of business strategy and measurable impact through direct collaboration with executive teams
  • Identify high-value AI opportunities that drive competitive advantage, representing the organization's AI vision through strategic partnerships and industry presence
  • Lead comprehensive AI initiatives spanning predictive and generative AI, overseeing development of advanced models and ensuring systems are scalable, efficient, and adhere to responsible AI guidelines
  • Drive AI-powered product innovation from ideation to production, partnering with data engineering to build robust infrastructure that supports both traditional and emerging AI applications
  • Build and lead high-performing, diverse teams of data scientists and engineers across multiple locations, recruiting and developing top talent in a remote/virtual-first environment
  • Foster a culture of excellence that embodies agency, growth mindset, and continuous learning, with clear career development paths aligned with both company objectives and personal growth
  • Optimize end-to-end AI operations with bias toward action and high-quality execution, incorporating best practices for data management, model deployment, and monitoring
  • Implement rigorous validation protocols and standards while making swift data-driven decisions to deliver impactful outcomes
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, data, marketing, and operations teams to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions, translating complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for all stakeholders
  • Promote a data-first culture throughout the organization while demonstrating customer obsession, operating effectively across complex organizational structure
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field with 12+ years of data science and/or AI/ML experience in software companies, including 6+ years managing high-performance teams
  • Proven track record of driving business impact through data science initiatives across different company scales, from startups to large enterprises
  • Comprehensive expertise in both predictive and generative AI technologies, including statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, data visualization, and their practical business applications
  • Experience with large-scale data and ML systems and cloud platforms, combined with strong understanding of responsible AI practices and current industry trends

  • Exceptional business acumen with proven ability to deliver high-quality execution and measurable business impact, demonstrating bias toward action and strategic thinking
  • Strong communication skills with experience building high-performing remote/virtual-first teams and cultures that embody agency and growth mindset, able to influence effectively across organizational boundaries
Compensation
US Pay Range
$365,500$494,500 USD
