Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic, strategic and detail-oriented VP, Competitive Intelligence who will report into the EVP Global Strategy & Investment to join our team. You may be based anywhere in continental United States or near one of our office locations including New York City, NY, Chicago, IL, and Detroit, MI. You will be the leader within the agency account team and for the clients in creating a centralized resource that uses marketplace tools and subscriptions as well as anecdotal input to create a valuable resource in providing understanding of the competitive landscape. With a goal of providing both a short term or 'current snap shot' view, as well as a longer term more trend-oriented perspective.

This role is instrumental in providing actionable insights into our clients' competitors, helping to shape and refine our clients' marketing strategies. You are passionate about research, analyzing data, and accomplished at translating findings into strategic perspective. The primary contact for competitive media requests and workflow, always with a goal of delivering the most accurate, most timely and most granular competitive media spending reports & analysis in our client's categories.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on competitors' marketing strategies, campaigns, and market positioning.

  • Analyze competitors' cross-channel media presence and creative strategies, identifying trends and potential opportunities

  • Monitor industry trends and market developments across various market segments and product areas

  • Create detailed reports and presentations that highlight competitive insights and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholder and partner teams including Planning, Strategy, Investments, and Analytics to ensure competitive insights and learnings are being considered throughout the campaign lifecycle.

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive intelligence dashboard, bringing new data inputs to bear

  • Continuously identify areas of opportunity for new data inputs, working with Partnerships to incorporate data needs into larger Partnership agreements

Qualifications:

  • 13+ years experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or a similar role.

  • Proficiency in using competitive intelligence tools, including but not limited to Pathmatics, iSpot, AdIntel, EDO, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, etc.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

The annual salary range for this position is 113,000- 183,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
