POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for leading the company’s growth through the identification, pursuit, and signing of new joint venture partnerships with real estate brokerages, home builders, and strategic affinity partners. This role will drive the go-to-market strategy, own the JV sales pipeline, and represent the organization with professionalism and credibility at all stages of the business development lifecycle. This role is instrumental in shaping Newrez’s national footprint and strategic growth through high-impact partnerships that drive volume, brand equity, and operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
New JV Acquisition & Pipeline Development
- Develop and manage a national pipeline of qualified joint venture opportunities across real estate, builder, and affinity verticals.
- Own the entire business development lifecycle: prospecting, outreach, relationship development, proposal delivery, financial modeling, negotiations, and closing.
- Collaborate with internal leadership to define JV value propositions and customize proposals that meet the unique needs of potential partners.
- Lead partner due diligence, opportunity qualification, and internal approval process.
Sales Tools & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Build and maintain professional sales materials, including pitch decks, financial models, outbound campaigns, and onboarding playbooks.
- Partner with marketing to coordinate branded outreach strategies (email, events, outbound campaigns).
- Present regularly to executive leadership on funnel progress, opportunity prioritization, and competitive trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with the Head of Joint Venture Lending and Division Manager to ensure smooth handoff and onboarding of new JVs.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and lending leadership on deal structures and compliance considerations.
- Help shape the strategic expansion plan by providing field intelligence and market insights.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of business development, enterprise sales, or partnership leadership experience (mortgage or real estate preferred)
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Strong network and credibility in the real estate, builder, or lending ecosystem
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles, executive relationships, and deal negotiations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to senior stakeholders
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills; consultative and collaborative work style.
- Strong analytical skills & problem-solving abilities; solid decision-making abilities coupled with sound judgment.
- Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Self-directed and comfortable working with ambiguity and uncertainty.
- High degree of professional maturity, integrity, ability to maintain confidential data and information.
- High degree of business acumen; strong technical aptitude.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to thrive in a performance-driven environment
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
