The Video Editor will create engaging short and long-form video content tailored for social media, while collaborating with various departments and maintaining brand consistency.
We are seeking a skilled, creative, and passionate Video Editor to join the team behind Seedworld, an upcoming survival game.
The Video Editor will work closely with the Marketing Producer to create short form video content tailored for social media. The ideal candidate is a gamer at heart, consumes gaming content regularly, and brings a deep understanding of what resonates with that audience. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and wants to help shape the voice and aesthetic of a growing IP.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Art and Marketing departments to produce vertical video content optimized for platforms like TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
Edit long-form and short-form marketing videos for campaigns, trailers, community updates, and more.
Repurpose gameplay footage, dev diaries, and marketing assets into engaging, high-retention video formats.
Bring creative concepts to life with pacing, music, effects, and storytelling that speaks to gaming audiences.
Ensure content aligns with the visual and tonal direction of the Seedworld brand.
Stay up to date with editing trends, platform algorithms, and viral formats to inform creative choices.
Work with other designers and editors to maintain a consistent visual language across content.
Participate in ideation sessions, provide feedback, and take direction with a positive, team-oriented mindset.
Maintain clean project files, naming conventions, and organized structures for efficient collaboration.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience editing marketing or entertainment videos in a professional setting.
Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or other video editing software.
Deep understanding of the social media landscape, especially vertical content and short-form engagement.
Strong visual storytelling instincts; know how to build tension, deliver punchlines, and guide viewer attention.
Solid graphic design skills, comfortable working with layouts, typography, and visual composition to create or adjust thumbnails, and overlays.
Avid gamer with a strong grasp of game culture, memes, communities, and storytelling.
Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, and visual hierarchy.
Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills.
Comfortable working independently and delivering quality work on time.
Fluent in working with different aspect ratios, resolutions, and export settings across platforms.
Bonus Skills
Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5: Capturing, rendering, or editing gameplay or cinematic footage.
Ability to draw or create illustrations.
Motion graphics experience (After Effects or similar) is a plus.
Understanding of virality, retention metrics, and what drives engagement in gaming audiences.
