We have an excellent opportunity for a Vice President of Tax. This individual is a pivotal leader within our Centralized Wealth Solutions group. This senior executive role is responsible for shaping a forward-looking tax strategy, leveraging deep subject matter expertise to deliver transformative outcomes for our Advisors and clients through innovative solutions and a best-in-class platform.
As the leader of Wealth Enhancement’s tax organization, you will be instrumental in driving the firm’s competitive advantage. With a mandate to significantly scale the department over the next five years, this role requires bold vision, operational excellence, and the ability to lead through change while aligning with evolving business priorities and strategic objectives.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $220,000.00 to $240,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. This role is also eligible for our corporate bonus.
Primary Job Functions
Strategic, Operational, and People Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive tax strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory frameworks.
Lead organizational transformation within the tax division to address evolving industry trends, compliance requirements, and business needs.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing tax team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-accountability culture.
Provide expert guidance to tax advisors and operations personnel, ensuring technical excellence and consistency.
Continuously evaluate and enhance tax-related processes to drive operational efficiency and innovation.
Growth and Scale
Spearhead the sustainable growth of the tax organization over the next five years, ensuring it remains a strategic differentiator.
Leverage emerging technologies to streamline operations and improve tax efficiency.
Identify, implement, and manage outsourced tax partnerships to optimize performance and scalability.
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations while minimizing liabilities and optimizing after-tax profits.
Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Communication
Collaborate cross-functionally across WEG to enhance our platform, elevate client experience and ensure tax services remain a competitive advantage.
Engage with executive leadership to deliver insights and strategic recommendations on tax-related matters.
Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging tax strategies to position the firm as a market leader.
Partner with marketing and communications teams to develop educational content and thought leadership in the tax domain.
Cultivate and manage relationships with key external partners.
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced credentials (CPA, JD, or Master’s) strongly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in tax, ideally within wealth management or financial services.
Proven ability to harness technology for tax optimization and operational efficiency.
Demonstrated success in managing outsourced tax partnerships.
Deep expertise in business process optimization and continuous improvement.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong record of team leadership and development.
Extensive experience leading organizational change within a tax function.
Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations, planning, and strategic execution.
Proven ability to scale tax operations while maintaining a competitive edge.
Adept at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as: the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as a Vice President level is $182,600.00 to $273,900.00. However, the base salary range bolded above is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
