Vice President, Planning & Engagement

The Role

The Vice President of Planning & Engagement partners with Fidelity’s largest Strategic Plan Sponsors to develop and implement advice/guidance programs to improve engagement with their participants. This highly transparent and strategic role works across the Workplace and Personal Investing businesses and supports a wide array of solutions we can deliver to plan participants.

As part of the overall client service team for a book of clients, you will consult with your clients, the Plan Sponsors, on how best to position Fidelity’s participant engagement solutions to their participants. You will build and implement strategies crafted to engage participants with the right solution, at the right time and through the right channel. And you will support Personalized Planning & Advice, our premium advice solution for plan participants. The trust you help build with your clients will position Fidelity as a strategic partner who they actively promote to their employees.

The VP of Planning & Engagement drives planning & advice engagements participants, helping them improve their overall Financial Wellness and opening the door to lifetime relationships.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring  

  • Highly effective networker and relationship builder

  • Ability to anticipate client needs and concerns, and proactively propose solutions client needs and concerns, and proactively propose solutions

  • Tenacious problem solver and strong project manager

  • Ability to analyze sophisticated data and present findings in a clear and compelling way

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred

  • 10+ years in Financial Services, with solid understanding of the retirement industry

  • Experience building productive client relationships in a client management or sales role

  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 required

The Team

The team is focused on developing a strong understanding of our clients’ priorities regarding the planning needs of their participants. We bring to life how Fidelity’s planning and advice capabilities can help their participants meet their financial goals. We lead consultative discussions to develop strategies to build awareness and drive utilization of Fidelity’s key solutions: Financial Wellness, Personalized Planning & Advice, Planning & Advice, Stock Plan Services, Executive Services and our Retail offering.

Internally, we optimally educate and influence key WI and PI business partners to ensure the best positioning of Fidelity’s planning and advice capabilities. We strive to effectively represent the voice of the Plan Sponsor and participant to drive the product roadmap and long-term business strategy of Fidelity’s Financial Wellness and planning & advice offerings.

Success in the role is based on driving increased usage of Fidelity’s Financial Wellness and planning & advice capabilities while improving Plan Sponsor engagement, happiness, and retention. Critical to finding success will be your ability to build positive relationships with your clients and Fidelity’s Managing Directors.

The base salary range for this position is $118,000-226,000 USD per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
