Overview
The Vice President, Specialist Sales for Open Finance US Market Development is responsible for accelerating adoption of Open Finance solutions by leading revenue growth, developing strategic partnerships, managing executive customer relationships, building high-performing teams, and ensuring effective market execution while influencing product and business strategy.
Your primary objective will be to develop and execute a sales strategy designed to accelerate profitable revenue growth. You will work closely with our internal Open Finance Product and Marketing teams and Mastercard customer account management and Services teams to architect, price/negotiate/contract, build-out and implement innovative financial services offerings across a variety of use cases. You will work with some of the most innovative companies who are actively embracing the digitization of financial data to empower consumers and small businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue and sales leadership - Own Open Finance sales performance, bookings, pipeline, and revenue targets. Create predictable pipeline generation, forecast & accuracy. Establish territory, vertical, and segment-level go-to-market prioritization across Processors, ISVs, Merchants, Acquirers, and other strategic categories.
Customer acquisition and strategic engagement - Lead a team of Sales Account Executives to partner with existing and prospective Open Finance customers, win new business, grow strategic relationships, and execute solution-based sales across priority use cases.
Partnership and ecosystem development - Identify and develop channel, referral, and embedded distribution partnerships; manage relationships with core processors, banking platforms, industry influencers and strategic alliances; drive joint go-to-market efforts; and evaluate new ecosystem opportunities that accelerate adoption and distribution.
Internal alignment and cross-functional execution - Build strong internal relationships and communication channels across account management, Product, Marketing, architects, Services, Customer Success, Legal, Compliance, and executive stakeholders to create a unified partner interface, remove barriers, support complex deals, and ensure disciplined execution.
Team leadership and talent development - Recruit, develop, retain, coach, and lead high-performing sales professionals; establish performance expectations, coaching programs, and career development plans; foster accountability, collaboration, and customer obsession; and lead organizational planning and resource allocation.
Customer and market intelligence - Monitor competitive trends, regulatory developments, and industry changes impacting Open Finance; gather voice-of-customer insights; communicate market requirements internally; and represent the company at industry conferences, customer events, and executive briefings.
Operational excellence and executive reporting - Maintain sales discipline through CRM management, forecasting, KPI tracking, business reviews, executive and board-level updates while aligning sales execution with company growth objectives and strategic priorities.
Success metrics ownership - Drive measurable outcomes across revenue and bookings attainment, pipeline coverage, conversion rates, strategic account growth, new customer acquisition, team engagement and retention, and forecast accuracy.
All About You
Executive relationship management - Build trust with C-suite executives, navigate complex buying committees, lead large strategic negotiations, influence executive stakeholders without formal authority, and develop long-term account growth strategies. Open Finance deals are often transformational initiatives, not transactional purchases.
Strategic ecosystem and partnership development - Build channel, referral, and embedded distribution partnerships; manage strategic alliances with processors, platforms, fintechs, and industry partners; lead joint go-to-market planning; and identify ecosystem opportunities that accelerate adoption. Open Finance growth often comes through platforms, processors, core banking providers, fintechs, and embedded channels rather than direct sales alone.
Open Finance industry expertise - Bring deep knowledge of Open Banking/Open Finance ecosystems, permissioned data sharing, payments, lending, onboarding, financial institution operating models, and regulatory considerations to serve as a strategic advisor to customers.
Sales leadership and talent development - Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams; establish clear performance expectations; drive accountability and execution discipline; support succession planning; and motivate teams through change.
Cross-functional influence and execution - Orchestrate Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Legal, Compliance, and executive stakeholders to align strategy, remove barriers, support complex deals, and ensure disciplined execution across internal teams.
