THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Vice President of Network Development is responsible for leading the strategic growth and development of MHN’s provider network. This role is focused on expanding and aligning MHN’s partnerships with FQHCs, community health centers, hospitals, and other safety-net providers to advance integrated, value-based care delivery and whole-person health.
With a strong emphasis on strategic planning, market insight, and relationship development, this leader plays a key role in identifying opportunities for network expansion, supporting the teams managing network operations and performance, and ensuring alignment with MHN’s mission and long-term goals.

- Hybrid schedule based in Chicago, IL, with remote opportunities available outside this location. This role requires regular travel, which during peak periods may be as much as 2–3 days per week for up to 3 weeks each month. The incumbent must be able to travel regularly.
WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:
- Develop and lead the overall network growth strategy in alignment with MHN’s mission and value-based care model
- Identify and assess market opportunities for network expansion in new and existing service areas.
- Identify and onboard new provider partners, including FQHCs, behavioral health providers, hospitals and systems, and community-based organizations
- Monitor the evolving healthcare market landscape, including regulatory and policy changes, and assess their impact on network strategy and provider priorities.
- Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with network participants — including executive and clinical leaders at partner organizations
- Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to FQHCs, community health centers, hospitals, and other safety-net providers navigating care transformation and value-based care initiatives.
- Facilitate ongoing communication and collaboration between MHN and providers to align goals, address challenges, and promote shared success.
- Design and negotiate agreements that support a spectrum of value-based payment structures.
- Define performance expectations and value-based alignment requirements during contracting and onboarding.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, compliance, and population health teams to ensure contract structures support MHN’s risk-bearing models and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with internal teams responsible for network performance, quality improvement, and provider operations to ensure new partners are set up for success.
- Provide strategic insight and context to performance and implementation teams to help tailor support to partner needs.
- Support the development of tools, resources, and data-sharing approaches that enhance provider engagement and alignment.
- Share insights from the field to inform internal teams about provider capabilities, challenges, and emerging trends.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MPH, MHA, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in network development, provider relations, or health system partnerships
- Deep understanding of value-based care, population health, and the role of FQHCs and safety-net providers
- Proven track record of building and scaling collaborative provider networks
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid programs, ACO models, and care coordination best practices
