Job Description

Position Summary
The Vice President of IT, Aspen Hospitality (AH) is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the technology strategy, application management, and IT support functions for a growing hotel company operating both five-star and four-star properties. This position ensures that the company’s technology infrastructure, property management systems, and guest-facing digital services align with business objectives and enhance operational efficiency, guest experience, and competitive positioning. The Vice President of IT, Aspen Hospitality will lead the Application and Support teams while working closely with the parent company’s shared services organization to leverage enterprise-wide infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and operational excellence to drive IT innovation, standardization, and service delivery across all properties. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $180,000 to $220,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the AH technology strategy and roadmap to support the business unit’s growth plans, ensuring alignment with Aspen Hospitality and Aspen One business goals and operational priorities
  • Partner with the AH executive team and hotel general managers to scale AH IT’s technical organization and capabilities to support the business unit’s growth objectives
  • Lead the AH IT function to support AH’s growth plans, including leading the successful opening of new properties, expansion strategies, including new property openings, system integrations, and acquisitions
  • Identify, assess, and build consensus to deploy appropriate emerging hospitality technologies to drive innovation, improve guest service, employee effectiveness, and revenue. Partner with Operations to ensure successful adoption
  • Enhance and manage AH’s IT Support function with the goals of providing employees and guests best-in-class service while advancing the support team’s technical capabilities. Use data-driven metrics to improve the support function
  • Oversee the roadmaps, selection, implementation, and management of hotel specific applications such as property management, central reservations, revenue management, accounting, finance, customer relationship, sales, and other applications to drive guest service, NPS, and employee effectiveness
  • Partner with Aspen One shared digital services to select and deploy digital marketing and technology solutions that drive toward improving NPS and financial targets for both Aspen Hospitality and Aspen One. Partner with Operations to ensure successful adoption
  • Collaborate with Aspen One shared IT services to deploy robust corporate applications and infrastructure that enhance guest experience and that meet cybersecurity, performance, and scalability goals
  • Manage projects effectively through communication, issue and risk management, and budget management, and build the AH IT team’s project management capability
  • Build relationships with, assess, manage, and communicate effectively with vendors
  • Responsible for building AH IT department budget, driving cost efficiencies, setting and managing capital budgets, and meeting all budget targets
  • Maintain a strong cybersecurity posture, enforce cybersecurity policy, and ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, GDPR, and other relevant data protection regulations
  • Act as the primary liaison between hotel leadership, operations, and Aspne One’s shared IT services to coordinate infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements
•    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or relevant Master’s degree preferred)
•    10+ years of IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in the hospitality industry managing technology for luxury. •    Experience in Forbes Five-Star properties preferred
•    Experience managing IT applications, service desk operations, and vendor partnerships
•    Experience with cybersecurity best practices, IT compliance, and data privacy regulations

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
•    Strong knowledge of hotel technology systems, including PMS, POS, RMS, CRS, CRM, and digital guest experience platforms
•    Proficient knowledge of cybersecurity & compliance
•    Strategic thinking, vision, and road mapping
•    Proficient Hospitality industry expertise
•    IT service & support management skills
•    Digital adoption leadership skills
•    Stakeholder collaboration and communication skills

•    Ability to establish IT governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure security, compliance, and system reliability
•    Experience opening new hotels and/or converting acquisitions is preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands 
•    Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements  
•    No adverse or hazardous conditions 
•    Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
