Job Description Summary:
The Vice President, General Manager (VP GM) of ContentEdge will serve as the end-to-end business leader for Rocket Software’s ContentEdge portfolio, a core component of the Application and Data Modernization strategy. This role owns the full lifecycle of the ContentEdge business, including product strategy, engineering, support, go-to-market alignment, and P&L, while driving modernization, customer retention, and growth across a large and loyal enterprise customer base.The VP GM will lead globally distributed teams across engineering, product management, and technical support, ensuring ContentEdge continues to deliver mission-critical value while evolving to meet modern customer demands around cloud, analytics, compliance, and digital transformation. This leader will balance operational excellence of a mature product line with innovation and strategic investment to extend ContentEdge’s relevance and growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Own the overall business strategy, execution, and financial performance (P&L) for the ContentEdge product portfolio.
Drive sustainable growth through modernization, innovation, pricing/packaging strategies, and expansion within existing accounts.
Set and execute the long-term vision for ContentEdge aligning with Rocket Software’s broader Application and Data Modernization strategy.
Partner closely with executive leadership and C-level stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and transparency.
Define and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap that balances customer stability with modernization and innovation.
Champion customer needs, regulatory requirements, and market trends in enterprise content services, archiving, and output management.
Oversee product lifecycle management, including roadmap prioritization, technical debt reduction, and portfolio rationalization.
Guide go-to-market strategy in partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, ensuring strong positioning and value articulation.
Act as an external and internal evangelist for ContentEdge with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Lead and mentor high-performing, globally distributed engineering teams (US and India).
Drive modern engineering practices, tooling, quality standards, and secure development processes.
Partner with architects and senior engineers on technology modernization initiatives (e.g., cloud readiness, APIs, automation, analytics).
Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability for mission-critical customer environments.
Oversee technical support and customer-facing teams to ensure exceptional customer experience and long-term retention.
Implement processes, metrics, and tools to improve support efficiency, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Partner with Customer Success to proactively manage risk, escalations, and renewal outcomes for strategic accounts.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Services, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to align execution with business objectives.
Influence without authority across a complex, matrixed organization.
Build a strong leadership bench and foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
15+ years of experience in enterprise software, with a combination of engineering, product management, and business leadership.
10+ years in senior leadership roles with ownership of a product line or business unit.
Proven experience leading a mature enterprise software business with strong customer retention requirements.
Demonstrated success managing globally distributed teams across engineering, product, and support functions.
Strong understanding of enterprise content management, archiving, output management, or adjacent infrastructure software markets.
Track record of driving modernization and innovation within established product portfolios.
Deep business acumen with experience managing revenue, cost, and investment trade-offs.
Expertise in Agile and modern software development practices.
Exceptional communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment while handling sensitive and confidential information.
