We are hiring a Venture Scout to find companies worth our diligence, and to open relationships with investors who back private companies directly.
Pairs is a global network of family offices, institutional investors, VCs and angels. We screen deal flow very tightly, and the opportunities that clear our diligence go out to the network. We invest alongside them too.
THE ROLE
This role works across both sides of Pairs. It is for people who bring in deals on their own. You bring founders from your own network who are raising, learn what makes their companies worth an investor's time, and bring the strongest to Pairs.
Most of the work is first contact done well. You write to founders and investors in a way that earns a reply, turn those replies into calls, and bring the right ones into the network.
We are not raising a fund. Our investors invest directly in companies, so the work is about direct investors, not fund LPs.
Our platform handles the pipeline, research and follow-up. Your time goes to the conversations, and to learning which companies and investors are ready.
You will work directly with the two co-founders and our investor team, on a process that already works. The organisation is flat, so you will see first-hand how we screen opportunities, what we decline and why.
This is an early-career role. Drive and judgement matter more to us than years in a seat.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • Company sourcing. Founders raising Series A and later, found early and brought to Pairs with the context our team needs.

  • First conversations. Messages that read like a person wrote them, and replies turned into calls.

  • Investor research. Who is investing right now, in what, at what stage and cheque size.

  • Your growing network. Every founder and investor you open, kept current and qualified. The network you build here is yours.

YOU ARE A FIT IF YOU

  • Already have an active network of founders you can bring to the table, built through an accelerator, a VC role, a startup community or your own work.

  • Can write a short, specific message to a stranger that gets a reply.

  • Keep your pace high without letting quality slip, and follow a process without needing a reminder.

  • Understand the basics of a round: stage, cheque size, SAFE versus priced, and why an investor passes.

  • Treat discretion as second nature. Please do not include any investor or company names in your application.

  • Use AI tools daily, with clear judgement about where they improve your work and where they would compromise its quality.
