Contract Position:
We’re looking for a proactive, experienced UX Research Lead to join our team for a high-impact project in the health tech space. You’ll lead qualitative research efforts from end to end—managing the client relationship, fieldwork, timelines, and budget, while ensuring the work drives strategic decisions and delivers meaningful, actionable insights. You’ll be supported by another researcher, but will be the primary face to the client, responsible for setting direction, maintaining momentum, and delivering polished, executive-ready outcomes.
Would you like to...
- Lead and execute qualitative research studies, including user interviews, thematic analysis, and synthesis into frameworks and deliverables
- Translate findings into actionable artifacts such as discussion guides, journey maps, and insight reports
- Manage the full research lifecycle—including planning, recruitment oversight & vendor coordination, facilitating interviews, timeline management, and reporting
- Present research findings with confidence and clarity to executive and cross-functional stakeholders
- Work closely with research and product teams to ensure insights are relevant, strategic, and connected to business goals
- Ensure all research activities follow HIPAA-compliant practices and adhere to ethical standards for working with health-related user data
- Proactively anticipate challenges, consistently delivering high-quality work with minimal oversight
We would like you to have...
- 6+ years of experience in UX research, preferably with exposure to healthcare, regulated industries, or high-sensitivity user data
- Deep experience conducting 1:1 user interviews, synthesizing data, and communicating insights that drive design and strategy
- Strong understanding of privacy regulations (including HIPAA) and experience managing research involving PHI/PII
- Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, with a track record of presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to lead complex projects independently, managing scope, stakeholders, and deliverables from kickoff to final presentation
- Familiarity with common research and design tools (e.g., Miro, UserInterviews, etc.)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Public Health, Design, or a related field
- Comfortable working in ambiguous spaces and bringing clarity through insight and storytelling
Compensation: Starting at $55/HR+
