In This Role
In this role, you will be a key contributor on a fast‑moving UX Research team focused on evaluating and improving user experiences across productivity and AI‑powered features within a large‑scale software ecosystem. You will lead and support mixed‑methods research—particularly focused on AI‑assisted experiences in spreadsheet and analytics tools—by designing, executing, and synthesizing research that informs product decisions. This role requires someone who can move quickly, make clear judgment calls with imperfect information, and partner effectively across product, design, engineering, and external research vendors to deliver high‑impact insights at scale.
ResponsibilitiesResearch Execution & Project Management- Execute multiple concurrent UX research projects, including task‑based evaluations, benchmarking, and competitive studies.
- Design and run studies that evaluate AI‑powered features and workflows compared to market alternatives.
- Build, manage, and maintain a pipeline of UX research to ensure studies are delivered efficiently and at scale.
- Conduct rapid qualitative, quantitative, and mixed‑methods research to inform product direction and improve existing experiences.
- Apply UX benchmarking methodologies and competitive research approaches in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
- Partner with external research vendors to support participant screening, recruitment, and study execution.
- Analyze and synthesize insights from diverse qualitative and quantitative data sources.
- Balance statistical rigor with qualitative interpretation to produce meaningful, decision‑ready findings.
- Prioritize insights and translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and research operations to align research objectives and timelines.
- Communicate findings clearly through well‑designed presentations, reports, videos, and other deliverables.
- Influence product and design decisions through strong storytelling and data‑driven recommendations.
- Deliver insights quickly to maximize product impact.
- Create high‑quality artifacts (presentations, videos, documents) that clearly communicate research outcomes to diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in a research‑centric field such as Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3–4 years of professional experience as a full‑time UX Researcher delivering clear, actionable insights in fast‑paced environments.
- Demonstrated mixed‑methods UX research experience, including qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Proven experience conducting UX benchmark studies, competitive research, or equivalent evaluative research.
- Strong statistical understanding and ability to interpret quantitative results alongside qualitative findings.
- Hands‑on experience using remote UX research platforms and tools.
- At least 6 months of professional experience researching AI‑driven or generative AI (LLM‑based) products or features.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience influencing cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Comfort working in rapidly changing, ambiguous environments and making clear, confident decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to take direction, solve complex problems, and make thoughtful tradeoffs.
- Master’s degree or higher in Human‑Computer Interaction, Human Factors, HCDE, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field.
- Direct experience conducting UX research for AI‑powered or generative AI products.
- Familiarity with productivity software ecosystems, including spreadsheet, collaboration, and AI‑assisted tools.
- Experience partnering with external research vendors or managing participant recruitment pipelines.
- Strong research rigor, attention to detail, and passion for translating business and product questions into valid research studies.
Salary Range
At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market.
For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $45 to $49.04 USD/hourly. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final salary and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and could fall outside the stated range.
